Was looking into these today, with the VW California now on a 18 month waiting list and my wife and I just wanting it for days out and maybe a night over somewhere the ID Buzz micro bus (if VW do convert to a camper) would suit us.
I suspect 60k+ once options have been ticked at the very least.
Very little out there except one German video of the people carrier variant.

These will attract even more of those annoying middle aged surfers/bikers wannabes once VW does a Californian version , guaranteed!

Clever from VAG as gets lots of attention but in the real world i struggle to see much of a market, especially with the obvious range limitations of a BEV underpinning? Assuming it gets the 80kW battery used in the long range ID4, with all the added weight and barn door aero I'd imagine 200 miles between charges would be optimistic?

At £70k+ who else is going to buy them?

At 60mph, that's 3 hrs driving, stop for a break, drive for another 3 hrs, etc etc Clever from VAG as gets lots of attention but in the real world i struggle to see much of a market, especially with the obvious range limitations of a BEV underpinning? I think a lot of a people in an ice equivalent would exhibit similar behaviour. I'm ready to stop after 2hrs behind the wheel
