Looking at these lately. How are they?
The new ones look like they have a decent range, is this accurate?
Any of you have any real world figures?...

I don't have one, but search for Bjorn Ioniq 38 on YouTube. He's a well-known Norwegian EV review guy who tabulates characteristics of the different cars he's tested.
Look him up and view at your leisure. The Ioniq's known to be a good car so I'm sure someone will soon reply to hive a British perspective.

Oh, I forgot to mention: try asking for experiences on the SpeakEv website.

Yes, bought a 2018 28kwh a couple of months ago. Range is good for such a small battery and pretty accurate (outside of unexpected headwinds or journeys up hills). I bank on 100 miles between charges to give a little lee-way but even at this time of year, it's showing 125 miles at 100% with the climate on.

Quality is very good overall. Very smooth driving experience, could use a little more power but power tends to get me into trouble so I'm happy with the performance and deliberately chose it over something faster. Also, the cooling seats in the premium SE actually work unlike many other cars I've owned (Jag/Lexus).

The Ioniq is pretty much the most efficient EV you can buy. So even if the battery appears small you can get a lot of range out of it. The trade-off is that it's very low so make sure you are okay with that, some people find it hard to get in and out of.

Overall it's a great car.

I’m another Ioniq 28 owner. We’ve also owned two Leaf 24s and two Leaf 30s over the last few years. The Ioniq is great. Far more efficient than the Leafs, and charges faster at rapids too. Feels well made, and a nice place to be in Premium SE spec. The newer Ioniq 38 goes further on a charge, but charges slower at rapids. I get 120-130 miles between charges. It’s a keeper.

We have an Ioniq 38, an upgrade to our Leaf. It’s a better car in every way. Range is remarkable, it doesn’t seem to care much how it’s driven or temperature.
