The concept ID Bus looks very good. The ID3/4 look bland just as does the Tesla M3.

Not sure good is the word I'd use. I'd go with anonymous.

I bought one for one of my staff recently. It’s very dull to look at. And the multimedia sometimes sts itself.

It’s an automotive dishwasher.

It’s a shame the interior is so low rent.

I’m planning on going electric for my next car, 5 door hatch, but there are still very few electric cars of this size and category, especially around £35K.

I was waiting for the Peugeot e308, but that’s now hybrid only for now frown The Merc A-class also hybrid only. The Ioniq is great (we have one) but the replacement is a suv for now. The Leaf is just too old technologically.

I took delivery of a company bought one last week. I think it looks better from the back. I’m not wild about the snub-nosed look that the short bonnet leads to.

It’s ok inside. Clearly built to a price, but all the bits you touch are good. I’m trying to adapt to there being no buttons at all and everything being controlled through the infotainment system. Seems to be change for the sake of it.

The “primer grey” is the only flat colour available; it does the car no favours at all. Mine is white, which is actually metallic although it doesn’t look it.

I think it looks OK but is a bit bland and arguably no better looking than a Model 3, Leaf, even Prius, et al

Worse though, IMO, is the interior which looks both bland and cheap. Certainly doesn’t exude VW quality. Who decided that EVs need minimalist interiors?

I am still waiting for an EV that looks good, has a normal interior, a range of 400 miles and can recharge in less than an hour...

I was looking at these today. The outside looks ok to me although I'm generally not fussy about a cars appearance.

The interior is absolute garbage though. The seats all seemed to have some glitter effect fabric and it all looked really cheap. We'd been looking in Polos beforehand and the difference was stark. I don't understand their thinking at all.

VW bean counters made the decision about cheap interiors. Easiest place to save money for a car manufacturer making an EV.

Looks bland to me. Without the badge I doubt anyone would guess it was a VW.

It looks inoffensive, bland, under the radar, normal.

Everything VW want to do and look.

It looks like they've gone to slightly more effort than Tesla do but that isn't saying much.

They'll sell buckets loads though, exactly because it looks so bland.

Not sure I agree, a golf isn’t anonymous. The ID3 lacks the VW design language. The reason the golf is such an icon is that it’s classless, because everyone knows what it is.

The Golf is the definition of anonymous design. Every one knows its a VW, but most people would easily confuse a Polo. Even the R is just another bland looking Golf with extra exhaust tips.

I like how the ID.3 looks.

Is there such a thing as a desireable, good-looking EV?

I like the i3’s Blade Runner style, but the dog cant fit in the back.

Tesla, whilst very capable and with a great charging infrastructure, doesn’t exactly take risks on styling.

The ID.3 is Golf sized hatchback with a Passat sized floorpan. It will sell in big numbers.

Depends on your preference of course, I like the EQC, I-Pace, Model S, Peugeot e208.

And there's a whole slew arriving now as well, so I'd say there's plenty to choose from.

Yes, it is always of course in the eye of the beholder.

I suspect that Vw will flood the sector with competatively-priced lease deals, and the ID.3 will become part of the hatchback scenery forever. The new Golf looks a bit odd to me when next to an ID.3.

Will be interesting to see if/how Tesla react now that everyone else is beginning to catch up.

I agree, the ID3 looks nice enough, wouldn't mind owning one. The only really naff bit is the screen on the dash that looks like someone glued an iPad to it, except a really early 2000s iPad with massive plasticy bezels. Otherwise it's nice enough though, especially for the money they are going for these days.
