Would love to have a drive, my sister had one shortlisted as she thought it looked very very good.
Though it would have been an only car and then it becomes a bit of a problem due to limited range and slow charging capabilities.
As a second (or 5th...) car I think it looks great, have been a fan of the Mazda styling for quite some time now.

Will be a 5th car
Genuinely interested - what does this one do / what is it for that none of the other four cars do? It's your money, so crack on, but unless all of the others are 2-seater convertibles . . . ?Slightly more on topic, I really like Mazda's styling and their engineering approach (no DCT, no turbos in petrol cars) for a long-term-ownership proposition with hopefully fewer things to go wrong.

Bit late I know but I guess every little helps in the emissions we pump out.
I had a rolec 7kw charger installed about 5 years ago when I looked at a Nissan Leaf that never happened due to one reason or another now is the time to see how I get on with an e vehicle.
My mileage and long trips have reduced so it will be interesting to see.
I had a good poke around one…my biggest issue (apart from the range) would be the back seats. The rear side windows, although they look normal from the outside, are heavily buttressed, presumably due to some additional bracing for the suicide doors. This results in a tiny internal area so the back seats are very dark and gloomy. You would really want to subject rear passengers to that, I suppose with the range at least they will not be there for long…
Yes must agree it also doesn’t help that the rear port holes are tinted glass so that doesn’t help.
The GT model does have a sunroof which might negate that slightly. Mine is a first edition model so no sunroof.
Don’t honestly think I will ever have any passengers in the back.
If fits my bike in with the seats down so that’s a result.

Yes 3 of the others are two seaters two of which are convertibles. The other is a BMW X6M that does around 20 to the gallon.

You sound like the ideal customer. Range is adequate for local jobs = 90% of trips and you have other cars for longer journeys.Bit late I know but I guess every little helps in the emissions we pump out.

Sounds like a good fit for your requirements, i like the overall concept and the way Mazda has gone and done something different. It certainly will be a rare sight on the roads which I always like in my cars…The GT model does have a sunroof which might negate that slightly. Mine is a first edition model so no sunroof.

Drove one at a media launch a while back for our YouTube channel, and I have to admit, it's a great car. Much more entertaining to drive than its looks suggest. If you like something a bit different, and can get by on the smaller range, then it really is worth the look. My full review is available if you are interested.

I'd guess that for most people, rear seats are rarely used. If they are then there are more practical options.Resurrecting an old thread as I have just ordered one.
It's for my wife and she test drove many ev's and liked only 2.
The leaf (yes I admit it rides really nice but is old inside) and the mazda.
All the others are just sprung too hard. Find a bad road and lots become crashy and poorly riding.
Anyway we both work from home, she shops (alot) visits family etc and most journeys are probably less than 25 miles.
2 grand kids but probably only get in our cars once a month so back seats will be rarely used.
I've got a 7 series diesel so can go 800 plus miles on a tank and we would use my car for any longer journeys anyway just for the comfort alone.
So yes we are probably mazdas target market.
The car is really a city car but with more space 'when' needed. If you compare with mini, fiat 500 honda e it's range is pretty comparable bit those cars don't seem to get grief for their range yet the mazda does as many assume it should be compared with family suv's. It's not practical as a family car but as a second or city car with a decent boot then it makes a lot of sense.
Good build quality and an 'interesting' design made it a good shortlisted contender for us.
Obviously at present lots of ev cars are now factory order only but you can get the mazda if not too bothered about colour etc.
Used car wow for my order and got a couple of dealers offering really good deals competing fir our business.
Eventually got a part ex offer that is silly £2,200 more than we paid for her current seat leon 2 years ago.
So she has been offered effectively 2 years free motoring and a refund of all her repayments on the seat!
Should be delivered in about 10 days and she is very happy
