Big fan of these. Get the impression it'll resolve a number of the issues I have with our Model 3 P (seats, adaptive suspension, carplay, matrix headlights, hatchback) and for a well equipped example still looking at < £70k so considerably more affordable than a similarly equipped and performing Taycan.
BMW could be on to a real winner here, looking forward to driving one.

I'm tempted too, but its back to what we've spoken about before - do you / I want close on 70k sunk into an EV and not 40k or less on an electric runaround and something more irresponsible/exotic for the longer journeys BMW could be on to a real winner here, looking forward to driving one.
Love that - looks very similar to my spec san remo green and cognac interior

Even at £70k though, for our usage I'd still be leaning towards

+

With a £5k war chest for the inevitable maintenance and fuel bill.

100%. Was thinking it's a vehicle that would possibly do a better job of offering a 'rounded' experience than a Taycan perhaps? Smaller, lighter, better range, quite a bit cheaper?

"Weight Unladen (EU) 2125 kg"

The BMW is heavier than I remembered though. Bit of a bloater for the size of it?

Depends on your annual mileage I guess. For mine you’d be better if with just the Maserati.
10-15k of city mileage. School run, short commutes, shopping trips and general daily trudge that a small EV is perfect for. The Maser would be for long trips and weekend blasts, would barely get warmed up on most of our trips. Edited by SWoll on Wednesday 10th November 21:01

The 79kWh 4S saloon weighed 2320KG when Bjorn tested it. With the larger 93kWh battery and extra weight of the CT it's got to be over 2400KG in reality?
I guess the 4S would be a more comparable vehicle, thats down as 2215 kg EU (which I think is supposed to include a 75kg driver?) but depends on the options on Porsche I suspect. And yes the i4 is a lardass, its 100kg+ more than a plaid.

I did test a Tycan CT on the configurator it came out to £115k so i have made a saving.
Excellent man maths.
.Something like this would look fantastic on the roof, and you will be doing your bit for the environment....sort off.

My old 335i was the most unreliable combustion car I owned, but it was also heads and shoulders the best. The pricing of the i4 actually looks great compared to other EVs, and if BMW does something about that nose with the LCI refresh its a very tempting car to 'down size' to from our current Tesla.

Blimey GZ, that would be a considerable downsize from a Model X especially with it being based on a shared platform?I do find it interesting the number of current Tesla owners who appear to have been waiting for BMW to release a compelling EV product though (discounting the i3 due to size and range). Really seems to have sparked interest.
