I bought an A2 last year. The first time I tried to use it the car wouldnt charge, after 2 weeks of pissing about with them and trying a replacement cable they sent out an engineer who had to replace the entire guts of the unit to fix it. Not great.

Few weeks ago Andersen had a major outage which meant there was no control over the charge point (cloud based innit). Got a grovelling email and after about 48 hours things began to return to normal.

The schedules appear and disappear, sometimes they save sometimes they dont appear for a while.

Its rubbish.

Then today another outage a few hours ago. Still down, no charging.

Anyone else (I presume everyone is shagged with this)?

I’m going to request a full refund, the product isn’t fit for purpose.

Dont buy one folks.

Does it actually stop the ability to charge? I’m pretty sure in the last outage it was still possible to charge. I don’t use an Andersen yet but I’m planning on getting one.

Cant charge. Dead duck. If you rely on EVs and need to make journeys it’s a disaster tbh.

Just checked. It will charge if you plug in. That’s a default mode if it loses connection.

Mine’s plugged in and I’m away. So no, it wont default charge if left plugged in.

Service is back up now, for now. Maybe the cleaner unplugged the server when doing the vacuuming.

After 10 mins with an outage it will start charging unless the car has a schedule set. I verified this.

Indeed. Mine has a schedule set, as I expect most people do, so really works well eh.

Seriously, fill your boots and buy one, hell, buy mine.

Then it would work like normal without the server connection. The charger will go into on mode and the car will only accept the charge at the set schedule.

Sorry I misread your previous post. The Andersen has a schedule set to charge the car, not the car. With no server connection the charger, despite being plugged into the car, does not charge in that situation.

Mine did. When the last outage occurred, I rebooted it by turning it off for a few minutes at the breaker. Plugged the car in and it charged fine.

When the cloud service came back, the charger reverted to the schedule I had set.

Basically without the cloud service it just acts as a dumb charger. Makes sense because there’s no requirement for an internet connection, and the charger still needs to work even if your internet goes out.
Sure. But if you are not at home and the ‘server’ goes offline (2nd time in as many months), as is my situation, the charger is just a dumb chunk of metal on a wall with a cable hanging out of it.
