There’s another one on Autotrader for £80k but I’m assuming that’s a mistake. Quite a few around the £70k mark though, surely no one is paying anywhere near that?

Probably not, but there’s a waiting list and long delays on factory orders so if they have one they can ask pretty much whatever they want for it.

In 3 years time when chip shortage is over, that will probably be worth well under 40k

Who is going to be that desperate that they will pay £15k markup on this?

Good luck to the dealer, if there are people that stupid around, they deserve each other...

Crazy.

Christ On a bike! It’s no wonder I can’t get anything half decent on our company SS EV car scheme. Max allowance for management is £525pcm. £500pcm on the scheme just about gets me into base model e-Niro, ID3 or an MG ev. So much for the Polestar 2 or Tesla 3LR I had my eye on. They’re not even on the scheme. Probably about £800pcm laugh.

I’ll stick with my cash allowance for now and run about in my old diesel estate.

Is that Skoda optioned up to the eyeballs, or is it 22k over list?

You'd have to be really desperate for a brand new car!

For fun, I optioned one up as far as I could earlier (neglecting the 21" wheels, as they're not on this one), and I got to £55.5k, even with st no-one in their right mind would spec together.

So a quick list or all the cars you might be able to buy for 70k. Bar one or two, you can buy multiple cars below.

That's 7 Porsche boxster 987s.

Anyway, not an exhaustive list .....

Gallardo
360 and some other prancing horses
Lots of maseratis
Nissan gtr
Nissan skyline
Supra
Lots of pork
That Yaris thing wink
Fast Alfa's.
M6
M5
M4
M3
M2
Lots of fast Mercs
Anything VW with a fossil fuelled engine
Take your pick Audi
Aerial atom.....
Lots of kit car type
Elises a plenty
Almost every type of hot hatch

Need I go on......

Ok I'll buy a fuxking Skoda.

..or if you wanted, you could buy the one EV6 on PH at 43k, assuming you were quick enough and one knew the EV6 was a better EV anyway....

edit:...or your pick of Ioniq 5 on AT at £49k....

The mean average list price of news SUVs/Crossovers sold in the UK is nearly £40k so £49k for an electric one with a decent range doesn't seem unreasonable. £70k on the other hand...

The pricing is because Skoda want the dealer demos advertised, the dealers don’t want to sell them as they can’t get anymore to replace there currant demo’s, so they are pricing out of the market to stop people buying them, unfortunately there are some customers who will buy them!

Whilst I agree that the price for the Skoda is utterly ridiculous, your post is no less so. if you're going to make comparisons, at least do so with cars with a similar level of of utility. Some people do require a decent sized 5 seater car with a big hatchback boot and if no-one bought new cars where would we be?

This, it even says so on the adverts. smile
