With the every growing problem of plastic I got an idea from the old cars that were converted to run on wood pellets but why hasn’t someone thought of putting recycled plastic chips into a part electric hybrid .(its already proven fuel can be recovered from plastic ) and the heat source could just be the engine.I wondered that once the oil content has been removed if it biodegrades faster ?
Certainly an interesting idea

I have had some involvement with a technology company extracting fuel from recycled plastics. From what I saw the technology is many many years away from being mature and small enough to go in a car.
Even if the technology was mature there is the issue of the volume of fuel extracted from plastic being very small in comparison to the volume of the plastic, and it leaves a significant amount of residue.

That’s interesting .i’ve seen a few simple diy experiment setups (as seen on YouTube) to recover a small amount of fuel from random household plastic waste .if it was a low grade of fuel It could be mixed in the tank to make a formula similar to the E10 fuel .(added with a similar type system like a autolube 2T ) with two separate fuel tanks .

Also my other thought was that in hot countries the system found online can be used by using just the heat of the sun with thick sealed glass barrels (it would work like a greenhouse) so no heat source or gas needed to extract the oil .
