I'd like to whizz down to the New Forest on Saturday for a mooch around and some lunch, but could do with a top up whilst I'm down there. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable / not likely to be busy PAYG charging point around the Brockenhurst / Bolderwood area ? I can't seem to persuade ZapMap to show me any charging points.

I charged the Ovlov in the main Lyndhurst car park last Thursday morning. They have iirc 6 Mer 50kwh chargers (Mer app needed though). Worked perfectly and you don’t need to pay for parking for up 4 hours.

The Montague Arms in Beaulieu has 4 chargers - not sure what speed, but a lovely place for lunch. We stayed there last week. They have a sister hotel (Carey’s Manor) in Brokenhurst so might have chargers there.

Balmer Lawn Hotel has a load.

Need to download an app to use them, I think there were around 4-6.

Thanks - coincidentally booked there for afternoon tea so we're sorted. The lady on the phone couldn't tell me what type they were, but she said they have a QR code on them to scan to use them, so I'll give them a go.

Update for my benefit / reference as much as anything else.

There are 4 charging points covering 2 pairs of parking spaces. Type-2 untethered (so you need your own cable) 16A / 11kW. They are on the Vend Electric network which needs an app. 20p per kWh

ZapMap seems to think they are 3 pin plug chargers on a different network so I've sent an update in.

The afternoon tea was "ok". Not the best I've ever had.

There is a BP 50kw one at the lymington ferry terminal car park.

I’ve used the balmer lawn one whilst staying, worked a treat
