The Audi e-tron has been facelifted and rebranded as the Q8 e-tron. The prices and final spec for the twin motor Q8 seem to have been confirmed yesterday (but the tri-motor SQ8 seems to be missing from the configurator). Looks like they start at £68k going up to about £100k.

The biggest change being the considerable increase in battery size to 106kW useable in the 55 models and max charge rate increase to 170kW (from 84kWh and 150kW).

Woudn't make a lot of difference to us as rarely do 200+ miles in a day or rely on public charging, but helps keep it competitve with cars ike the iX and XE90 I suppose and could be compelling for some.

They've also removed the chrome from the badges for environmental reasons. On a 2.5 tonne SUV.

I'm, however, seriously considering one to replace my Taycan. I'd like some more room in the back seats and boot now and the reliability of all the software in the Taycan is poor. I've got an electric Macan on order but that's heavily delayed and I'm starting to get a bit annoyed with Porsche.

They've made quite a few e-trons so perhaps it'll be better?

Our's is a Black Edition so already environmentally conscious as very little chrome in sight. smile

We've had ours for a year and it's a lovely place to spend time. Obviously won't have the dynamics of the Taycan but a huge amount of space inside (my 6.3" son can sit behind me comfortably at 6.4") and in the boot, very comfortable and plenty quick enough in 55 spec. Just make sure you get a model with air suspension would be my advice.

Not the most efficient of beasts though, we've averged 2.5 miles/kWh across 12 months and 10k of driving. The range does hold up well in winter though (200 miles) and if you need to charge whilst out and about it's got one of the better charge curves out there.

I'm currently torn between changing my current E-Tron to one of these, or changing to a Range Rover (likely a couple of years old). Love the E-Tron, and no issues at all with electric vehicles, but paying £1k+ per month for one is just not sitting right with me currently (as got the current E-Tron for half that).

Same here. Got until the spring to work out the man maths and decide what to do!

My Taycan is sat on the driveway, I'm unable to turn it off or lock it. I'm also unable to open the charge ports on it without prying the port cover off the car with the little tool they supply. Think this is the 6th time this year it's had to go in to the dealership to be fixed, it usually takes them two weeks to repair it when something happens. There's a handful of other faults that I can't be arsed to get fixed until it gets serviced (which I booked in September as it was due in November; they couldn't fit me in until January). I've owned more reliable Fiats FFS.

Q8 it is then...

The 50 version actually looks decent value now given the increased battery size.

Its only £10k in base form than a Model Y and this seems a lot more car.

yes

Having gone from a Model 3 to etron I can confirm it certainly feels like a lot more car. Totally different league with regards to fit and finish, overall build and refinement.

A Q8 etron 50 in S-Line trim with adaptive air suspension and extra kit is < £5k more expensive than a Model Y Performance. I'd take the 50 all day long now it has the 90kW useable battery and 250 miles of range..

We have been waiting 15 months for my wife’s Q4 and the estimated delivery date is still July 2023 ! Just switched our deposit to a Q8 instead since the larger battery now means the Etron has the range she needs for our Devon run and she would like the extra space. Dealer says the system is showing April build for all Q8s at the moment but wasn’t convinced it would necessarily come that fast but may still arrive before the Q4.

Having spent some time in a well specced Q4 and now 12 months in a a FF etron I can confirm you've made a good choice as you get a lot more than just extra space. Everything about the car feels a couple of classes above in terms of quality and refinement. I found the Q4 very disappointing.

2 year waiting list for a middle of the range SUV EV as well? Utter madness.

My Q8 order has just been confirmed. It'll be interesting to see how quickly it arrives, they were talking May when I put the deposit down and they've been making the original e-tron for a while so I'm hoping it doesn't go the way of the Q4!
