It was three years ago that Mr. E. Milliband was on TV, encouraging everyone to have an Electric Vehicle.
He did admit though on that programme, that he did not have an EV himself.

Even he must have sensed hypocrisy, so a couple of months later he announced that he had bought an EV.

Has anyone seen him driving his own EV?
Looking quickly on the internet, there do not seem to be any photos, or even a mention of which EV he bought.
During 3 years, would you have expected to see him, perhaps just once, proudly enjoying his EV motoring?
Surely as a Right Honourable, respectable government minister, he would not make any untrue statements.

Sounds like a Daily Fail story.

I doubt any ministers publicise the car they are driving.

Bit weird of you to be googling for pics of him driving it. Proper creep vibes.

Surely the most eco-friendly - and perfectly viable, given that he lives in Hampstead - option would be not to open a car at all?

I cannot think of a single government minister I’ve ever seen driving a car, EV or not.

It’s therefore not unusual to not see Miliband driving his?

Wouldn't it be used by other family members or servants, important people are normally ferried about.

If he would be promoting interesting cars but not owning them, he'd be a PH-er instead of an MP hehe

Just another day on the EV forum when someone with anti EV views (in this case an Aston Martin fanboy with additional anti Labour views) pops in to post a bit of whataboutism about Ed Milliband and EVs. As Dingu notes all a bit weird.

Used to see Jacob Rees Mogg in the media with his motors regularly

It's not hypocritical to encourage using EVs instead of ICEs even if you don't own an EV yourself. If an EV fits your requirements, get an EV. If it doesn't, don't. One individual's specific requirements don't tell us anything about the benefits of EVs over ICEs in general.

Something something leading by example. Going by some posters here there's literally no excuse to not be driving an EV. And now you're inferring that said person telling everyone to drive EV's doesn't have to themselves as it "dOeSn'T sUiT tHeIr ReQuIrEmEnTs!!!1"

But what IS he driving?
I don't know how it works for MP's in the UK, but here on the mainland if they impose extra high taxes and the like on non-EV's, they'll have to pay them as well on their non-EV's.
There's so little info here that it really is just a "gotcha".

Agreed. When one side of the debate inevitably declines into illogical arguments highlighted by random smashing of the shift key it just becomes embarrassingly childish.

Why assume that he drives anything?

If I lived where he does, I wouldn't bother owning a car! Tube and taxis most of the time, with an occasional hire car thrown in

It's as if once a month on the EV forums the gates are flung open and a fresh bunch of muppets swarm in - to post absolute nonsense rofl

Why would any of us know if he never drove it, or if he was do 15k miles a year in some nondescript and understated EV and enjoying the anonymity? Unless he tells us more about his EV and motoring adventures, there's no reason we should know anything about it.

To suggest not knowing where a bloke drives and when, and in which car, is somehow evidence that he's not using a specific car, is moronic.

This is the opposite of Richard Tice who is always calling for NetZero to be scrapped but drives around in a Tesla!

There’s a big difference between liking electric cars for what they are and agreeing with government policy.

Why do you have to be a member of the Green Party to drive an EV?
