I see that HMRC recommend 7p per mile for EVs but this is for company cars. ICE rate for private cars is 45p upwards... so what is the reasonable 'going rate' for privately owned EVs when used for company business?

45p is a reasonable rate. Fuel is only a very small part of that payment.

EVs
45p per mile for the first 10,000 miles
25p per mile for any additional miles thereafter

You’re mixing the fuel advisory rate there up with the total cost per mile rate.

The former has EV at 7p and diesel starting at 11p.

Usually used where a company car is in use, so its fuel only as there are no other costs.
