Fiesta comeback?

Being reported in a few motoring sites that Ford may take the platform from the upcoming VW ID 1 and reissue the Fiesta as an EV.

Auto Express has confused itself with subsequent stories saying it'll be based on ID1 city car, which VW has said will be barely profitable, but VW is more bullish on making money with the ID2 small car, so definitely seems like a candidate for a Fiesta replacement given their current relationship for Explorer/Capri.
They could just renose an ID2, call it Fiesta, and run it down the same production line.

The Fiesta were always pretty good on the bends!

Last year they were rumoured to be based on a new Ford platform, now looks like going to VW.
Hopefully it’s a good car at a good price.
