We bought a used Q4, second owner from a large dealership (not Audi) around 2 months ago. This is my partners car and she does probably 5 miles a day, max.

During the first week of ownership, a 'Child Lock Fault' came up and, long story short, was booked in to Audi and was resolved under the dealer warranty. Less than 500 miles later, the same fault has returned, and so we are back in with Audi next week (earliest they could get us in).

1. In the meantime, the fault has gone off earlier this week.

2. We have an Easee One charger at home. We plug it in and set the schedule on both the Audi app and Easee app to be 11:30pm > 5:30pm for the cheap rates. It was plugged in all night last night and has only gone up about 30% charge. This is with a 7.4kwh cable. Is this us or a fault with cable / car / charger? The rates seem to fluctuate between 1.6kw and 6kw, on what power(?) is being pulled through.

3. This morning, my missus said the car came up with 'Electrical Fault' and went off as she was leaving for work. Its difficult as she sees all the faults as she drives it 95% of the time.

My main query is 2, but overall, the experience has left very much a sour taste. I have never been a 'Karen' but its just one issue after another and may go on to reject the car if we get the grounds (basically if the fault reappears).

Can anyone on this thread help with point 2? And any advice on point 1? My thought is to take it to the dealer anyway next week, even though the fault has repaired itself due to me not knowing what the car will do next.

First thing I would do is remove the schedule on the car and let the charger take care of it it.

Also check if there is a power limit set on the car.

I can't really help you with point 2 but with regards to point 1, we also have an Easee 1 which we use to charge our Born (so it's very likely similar software and hardware).

We only use the schedule from the Easee app, there is no schedule active on the car. It's charged without issue since it was installed a few months ago. The only thing set in the car is a maximum charge of 80%.

My hunch would be to check the power supply to the charger, check it is not tripping off and on, due to voltage fluctuations or similar

See if you can charge with another cable (and do contact Easee support if you haven't done so already, they are so helpful)

I also have an Easee One charger, and the charging power seemed to be lower than it used to be, and the car was coming up saying charging power reduced.

Easee support asked me to check the internal wiring of the wallbox and send them photos (installer did that) - nothing wrong there. Then Easee support asked for photos of the pins at each end of my charging cable.

They immediately came back and told me the pin on one end of my charging cable was damaged.

Bought a new cable, and car is charging properly at full power again.

Thanks everyone, all good suggestions.

It is a brand new cable bought about a month after the car (thats another story!), although may still be faulty, granted.

I will amend the settings on the apps - my opinion is that it is a user error with the settings on the apps, due to the charger 'sometimes' working fine (most of the time to be honest, however it is obviously very inconvenient if we were to have a long journey planned).

Will amend settings then contact Easee if still having issues. Thanks again.
