Used Polestar 2 flooding the market?
Discussion
More than 100 of them

Many costing less than £20K
All of them long range.
Am I missing something?
Why are they so cheap?

Presumably lots of cars coming to the end of lease or pcp but also plenty of company cars inc salary sacrifice ending. The prices aren t unique to polestar and show great value,
I’d quite happily see the salary sacrifice benefits on company cars being watered down in the budget as the main beneficiary seems to be the leasing companies who pocket a sizeable chunk of the benefit. Those that can will have had their first EV this way and if EVs work for them will continue to own them, I’m not sure we need to continue subsidising to the same extent as it just creates these sorts of optics. Another way of saying it is 40% or so of the depreciation has in many cases paid by the government through tax breaks.

This is good news - looking to replace the g/f's ID3 early next year - these have just lowered the average price of Polestar 2's by around £3-4k. Seems to be more in the Polestar stock as well - lots of cars registered Dec 22 appeared this week.https://www.autotrader.co.uk/car-search?battery-ra...

I've also been following these and notice you can now get an approved used 74-plate Polestar 2 for under £30k (that's for the dual motor model with Plus Pack that's done around 10-12k miles):
https://www.polestar.com/uk/preowned-cars/product/...
That seems decent value to me but if one year old approved used examples are down to that sort of money you'd think it will inevitably put pressure on the value of older cars (especially the less efficient pre-facelift model)?

The rear seats aren't the biggest, and the ride can be a bit firm. But they mostly seem reliable (touch wood), I went for a 2021 LRDM over the I-Pace as it seemed a safer bet for a daily. I don't think there's a 'catch' really, very happy with mine, obviously I agree with the OP that they're attractive value currently.

I think they're a good bet as a used buy. I had a 2022 SMSR with Plus pack from new and let it go at 3.5 years old, with just under 40k on it. Apart from some interior rattles and squeaks early on the car was completely faultless. Looking at used prices today, I think I did pretty well when I sold it.

They re good value. You do need to look at what packs they have, and also be aware that what was included in each pack has varied a little from year to year. The move to rear drive, better efficiency and larger batteries is significant.
Good point on the packs - on some cars (like the one I linked) things like the Harmon Kardan sound system was included as part of the Plus Pack but on slightly newer cars that doesn't seem to be the case. So that does suggest Polestar have altered what's included in the various packs from time to time and hence you need to check to make sure the pack(s) on the cars you're looking at include everything you want!
ETA: The table posted above by Samoht sets out all the changes by model year!

Yep. Mine (74 plate) has Plus and Pilot, but doesn't have HK or pixel lights. So that does suggest Polestar have altered what's included in the various packs from time to time and hence you need to check to make sure the pack(s) on the cars you're looking at include everything you want!

Loads coming off lease, I would think. The end of 2022 was a pretty strong time for Polestar.
I'm not sure I would get one, tbh. Ours is going back in the next month or so. While it has been OK, we have had a few problems with software, etc.
We also had a water pump replaced (something to do with heating) and the driver's side heated seat packed up at a cost of £700.00
literally one week before the warranty ran out.
I would best describe the range on our car (twin motor) as woeful. We have had loads of problems with charging at fast chargers, mainly BP, which I now won't use.
Oh, and it left us stranded on holiday for over an hour when it refused to charge at multiple charger sites (Tesla and Instavolt)
Thinking about it, I would 100% not buy another Polestar
