Very random encounter, I'm at a photoshoot for a fashion brand and the studio next door had a Lucid Gravity in it, and some guys from Lucid so I went and had a look round and a chat...

This is a seriously lovely car, it feels and looks more European luxury than US luxury. 800+ bhp, liftable air suspension for off road usefulness, 400 miles range, gorgeous interior and screens - it looks very smart inside and out. Apparently hopefully coming to the UK much later this year in RHD.. £80k+ is rumoured but who knows.

Anyone else seen or looking forward to this car?

I'll probably consider this later this year.

Been following this as it seems to have been the go to Model S upgrade for quite some time.
Quick note though, the 90k EUR model has about 440hp. The 800hp one is well over 130k EUR. If you want the one that keeps pace with a Plaid, you're at a quarter of a million, about double the price of the Tesla.

Engineering Explained got rid of his M3P because of Elon (his wife's job was cut by DOGE), and made a couple of videos on it:

First one goes through a list of issues that make it seem like a bit of a beta product.

Update video, great to see some companies actually take responsibility. Still not ideal for such an expensive car, but I imagine early Tesla owners have gone through similar without the company acknowledging the issues.

My main issue would be stability. I'm not saying Lucid is Fisker, but ending up with a machine like that with the possible risk of no future support would make me very anxious, and from what I get Lucid now is in a very "make or break" situation, far worse than Tesla when they were ramping up Model 3 production.

Apparently the gravity addresses the issues the Air had/has. Time will tell of course...

If I lived in the US I'd have one of those I reckon.

They're on shaky ground financially though and they've got loads of software issues apparently.

I can see them ending up shifting production away from the US... They're supposedly going to be doing a lot in Saudi (majority owners of Lucid), and I'd expect China to end up doing the rest down the line too.

As a long term concern manufacturing in the States simply isn't competitive, but in this formative stage it could be a great way to cement the brand.

The Air is finally starting to sell reasonably well, although they’ve had to do Maserati type lease deals to get them shifted which they need to be careful with. Maserati are a laughing stock of a brand in the US as a result. Aspirational in the absolute worst way. Along with loud Gucci branded clothing and LV tote bags.

The Air and Gravity are very nice products. Several steps up in quality from anything with a Tesla badge. Vauxhall to Audi (of old) type difference.

Not driven a Gravity yet, but have driven an Air a few times. Lovely things. The grand touring is outrageously quick, to the point of it being essentially a useless gimmick (like the Plaid). The Sapphire, even more so, especially with its price tag factored in. The RWD base model with “only” 440hp is still neck snappingly quick, and is actually the smart choice. Feels very light on its feet with a nice clean steering feel.

The Gravity has been plagued by the sorts of teething problems that should be expected for an all-new vehicle. The question is whether Lucid will be able to iron out all the wrinkles in time.....

Lucid's new CEO apparently just jettisoned their head of software development, which is a telling move...

This deal was quite interesting:

https://www.nuro.ai/nuro-lucid-uber-robotaxi

I was trying to put the 20,000 into perspective, and it seems Porsche shipped less than 17,000 Taycans in 2025. So even if it is a multi-year plan, it is nothing to sniff at.

Breathing room to sell halo models while working on a smaller volume model ("Lucid Weak Nuckear Force", logically? smile )
