12v battery - replacement spec (Zoe)
Discussion
Local Renault dealer is a small local outfit and seemingly very good - however I just cannot bring myself to pay £220 for a new Renault branded 12v battery when I could source a top-end Yuasa or Bosch etc for £90 and fit myself.
With ICE when it comes to replacement historically I have taken the opportunity to buy the best brand and biggest CCA for longevity peace of mind - and source from Tayna/Halfords.
However as warranty rules usually require "OEM" parts, is there any warranty risk with fitting a) a NON-OEM part (Yuasa, Bosch, Varta etc)?
and b) a HIGHER-than-OEM spec (going from 50Ah/420A to 54Ah/500A). i.e. any risk to fitting a bigger battery to an EV?
Likely I'm overthinking this (due to not being ICE) - but easier to lock in now rather than argue in event of a traction related battery warranty discussion etc!
Car is a 2022 Renault Zoe - in online replacement guides the access looks fairly straightforward once bits are removed, and from the majority of posts I presume no coding is required? Although I've found the odd comment that coding is required???
Thanks
