Positive Public Charging

Currently enjoying a week around the cotswolds and I must say I've found the public charging network very easy to use, especially with Electrovese.

And to add to that, the site where our Lodge is has free EV chargers, albeit only 7kwh but ideal for overnight charging. There's 4 chargers, and we have 2 EVs in our convoy and managed to top up every night.

I think folks would be more tempted to go EV if they understood the ease.

Topped up en route from Northumberland (didnt need it but felt happier with a fuller battery) while grabbing a McDonald. At 50p p/kwh too, and the car was full again in just 40 minutes, we usually stop for an hour anyway by the time we all use the loo, have food, loo again etc. I found the smaller EV charge sites cheaper than the main services, by quite some margain.

All very positive.

The main services have always been best avoided!
I ve been happy with the Ionity ones. 47pKwh with subscription. Typically near motorways / adjacent to Hilton s (nice facilities) / cables that reach my Enyaq

Its not often we charge in the wild, so this has been a very positive experience.

54p p/kwh using electroverse, 300kwh (albeit the Honda cant take that much)

I've been using Tap Electric App for all of my public charging, includes Ionity, Osprey and MFG. So much easier than using multiple Apps/subscriptions.

Nice added benefit to see the AirBNB we used last month also had their charger on Tap Electric so it was seamless when I arrived to charge overnight. Highly recommended so far!

my wife did a 500 mile round trip for work a couple of weeks ago in here Niro, her first such trip, had to do one stop for 20 mins, no issues at all

Those are only for reversing so shouldn't need too many.
