Changing from Renault Scenic E-Tech to Tesla Model 3

Long time reader but first time poster
I'm looking for some advise on this. I currently looking to change from:
Renault Scenic E-Tech Long Range Tech (yr 2025)
TO
Tesla Model 3 Premium Long Range Rear Wheel Drive (yr 2026)
I currently have the Renault on PCP and hope to continue this on the Tesla
You may be wondering why I'm already leaving Renault after just one year. The truth is, I've had nothing but bad luck with my Renault, and I feel maybe it's time to just change to something else at this point.
I've looked around and I'm really tempted by the Tesla Model 3 and done a test drive and have to say I've never seen so much technology in a car, it blew me away
I do have concerns though
I've never owned a Tesla before, what are they like for trade ins?
Currently I pay around £380 per month and I would like a similar monthly costs on the Tesla
Tesla are giving me around £27k trade in for my car (other manufactures have offered me more)
Tesla are looking for a cash deposit of around £9k (to keep the current monthly costs)
Am I mad to consider changing? is the Tesla a much better car than the Renault?

You need to find out your settlement agreement for the Renault for a start
Seems like madness to me, the Tesla is a good car but it s not miles ahead of the scenic and doesn t feel any better to drive
Seems like you ll spend a lot of cash and then be bored of the Tesla in a years time anyway

Wowza, sounds like a great trade in. The question is therefore what is the settlement amount as 9k is quite a lot. Are they passing on a negative balance? Long time reader but first time poster

Tesla offered a decent px on our Mini SE but their finance companies were totally disorganised so we went to a small dealer buying second hand. Tesla is night and day the best car we ever had,fast comfy efficienct and so easy to drive with lots of features you'd never want to be without ,the charging network is outstanding we never get range anxiety any more, so I d definitely go for it. Best car we ever had.

One way or another, you're gonna take a bath on swapping an EV on PCP after year 1. Without all the figures nobody but you can do the math. If you really hate the Renault and can just throw (at least) £9K away then go for it but be honest with yourself about how long you plan to keep the Tesla and what that £9K(+) would have meant once the new shiny wears off.
Over the past year, it's been one thing after another, including:
Three replacement front windscreens.
Numerous dents and scratches caused by other people, who simply drove or walked away without taking responsibility.
Alloy wheel damage.
Back windscreen replaced
It's just one thing after another with this car
I've never had a car like it, it feels like i'm on first name basis with the garage that fixes these issues lol
My current settlement fee is 25,562.36
It's a 3 year PCP

The reversing camera is crap, the air conditioning isn't great, and there's always some sort of rattle or noise coming from the back of the car. Because it's an electric vehicle and so quiet, those noises are even more noticeable. You get what you pay for with the Renault I feel.

What are the flaws with Tesla?
If you order the 3 now, you probably won't get it for 2 - 4 months. I think there is a deposit contribution of £2,500 at the moment which will be why the trade in is looking good, but you are locking in aggressive depreciation on the new car. Tesla revalue your car after a month or 1,000 miles, that is the catch.
The 2 year PCH standard 3 is a good deal, no deposit and then 2 years down the line you can reassess what is on the market, EV offerings will have improved no doubt. If when that car is nearing delivery you can't shift your Renault or it doesn't make financial sense anymore you can cancel the 3 at no cost. What is the WBAC price?

Can’t use lane keeping assist and cruise control, you indicate to change lanes and the cruise control turns off
Automatic wipers don’t work very well
When scrolling the radio it will scroll though your favourites one way but if you want to go back it scrolls though all available channels
Park distance control isn’t great
Seats are crap, not long enough and no thigh support, gives me bad hips
Air conditioning isn’t great either

Can’t unplug the changing cable without opening the app (unless you get the Tesla charger)

We had one of the first back in 2019 and your comments above reflect my thoughts after running it for 2 years. The drivetrain is brilliant, but almost everything else about the car I came to dislike. Each to their own of course, but we've had numerous other EV's in the 5 years since and never been tempted to get another Tesla.

I'm on my 2nd model 3 long range. It's 5 years old now and on 65000 miles. I do 32k a year so have good experience of these. My wife also has a new VW ID3 and we've previously had a Renault EV as well. Three replacement front windscreens.

What are the flaws with Tesla?
Flaws with the Tesla? Very, very few. Compared to the Renault and VW it's miles ahead even though it's 5 years older. In my time I've had one charging issue and that was sorted under warranty.
Tech is next level even in my old car, although I do have the self driving/parking capability on mine. Yes you get phantom breaking but I get that on the VW as well.
Me personally, unless it was a really good finance deal I would buy new. Get yourself a 72 plate or above model 3 long range with the newer Ryzen processor. You'll get a 20k mile example for around £22000. You won't lose much on that over the next 2 years. You'll still have battery and drivetrain warranty until 2030/31.
The new ones are nice but I just couldn't stomach the depreciation.
