Anyone had a test drive or placed an order for a Raval?

Looking at some reviews, it seems to be a serious contender, possibly better than the R5 and A290

Not driven one but sat in one at Goodwood FOS and was impressed. Thought it looked good and nice inside as well.

I've got one (VZ Extreme) on order as a company car - was hoping it would arrive in September. I sat in the one at FoS and was happy with it. My other half has just ordered an A290, so will make an interesting pair.

We've just got back from a test drive. Dealer had a V1 in the showroom, and a VZ Extreme demonstrator.

Even the low-spec V1 looked like a premium car.
The VZ drove very nicely. Fast, refined, decent ride. Only negative was the front seats which looked a bit brash with the greeny-yellow patterning and the high boosters.

The intelligent regen seemed to work perfectly, slowing the car down to maintain a bit of of a gap, and coming to a complete stop if there was a car ahead at a junction, but creeping if there was nothing in front.

In Cupra mode, the fake noises were fine, unless you stomped on the throttle. It did get a bit aggressive on lift off though, with much higher regen.
Fortunately the noises can be turned off completely

In Comfort mode it was just as fast, just needed a bit more pedal.

Despite leaving all the nanny stuff enabled, it never became intrusive (unlike my EV3).
Even the lane assist was just a gentle nudge, not a full-on swerve, if I didn't indicate for a lane change

Impressive.

We placed an order for a VZ in Magnetic Grey with black roof, and optional Drive Pack (360 cameras etc.).
Downside is, 3 or 4 months wait for delivery. Dealer said projected UK sales were 4000, and they've hit 16000 in 2 weeks.

I'm glad to hear that your quest for a more 'Cornwall friendly' replacement for the EV3 has been resolved! smile

I was seriously considering the Raval VZ myself a couple of months ago, but went for a Mini Aceman in the end
as the Cupra colours were a bit boring (black / white / grey, etc).

That's amazing - makes the claim that EV sales are "faltering" elsewhere on the forum look a bit desperate...

The dealer’s 16,000 sounds a tad hyperbole.

Does the Raval VZ only come in matte colours?

Mine is due to be "Iridescent Plasma"... so a grey-ish/blue.

Mine will be Magnetic Grey, which is a normal metallic paint.

I think the only matte finish is the Manganese Green.

The new Raval, for example, can be had in white, black, copper, matt grey, matt black, a greyish pearl and a matt green.

News reports say Raval total demand is double what Cupra forecast - they expect to do 30K globally this year but I guess lead times will be into next year now.

Quite hefty discounts already available in UK though.
