Though the importance of this depends upon how much you care what JayEmm thinks. Unfortunately I can’t take more than about 30 seconds of him, so I’m not sure what his gripes are. Granted I didn’t opt for one, HOWEVER this former Tesla-sceptic, with similar considerations to yours, was converted after a test drive of a Model 3 RWD. It (and, I’d imagine, the Model Y too) was a great car: comfy, quiet, drove nicely, plenty of space (both real and perceived, thanks to the glass area), tech that worked etc. and everything is already known about their range, efficiency and battery durability. Well worth a look. I look forward to some suggestions, I appreciate it can be subjective on personal preference.
The only thing you may need to be mindful of (given the reference to motorway) was the so-so adaptive cruise and lane-steering, which may soon be dropped entirely as Tesla roll-out the £99/month “Full Self-Driving” package.
