Q4 or ix1 buying?

Currently have a Honda Eny1 which is due to be handed back in March. Got the car back in 2024 on the cheap deals and actually have quite liked the car. Anyway, phoned Honda today who said I can't extend the finance so it's definitely going back.

Looking at similar sized EVs there is not anything around the £300 mark that I like except for Chinese offerings which I don't really want.

So know looking at used cars, budget is around the £20k mark. We quite like the ix1 but for a decent spec these are over £25k and I doubt they'll be around £20k mark in March.

Other car we like is the Q4, most likely the 40 version due to it's improved range Vs the 35.

Would quite like a good spec so looking for cars with the tech pack and the comfort pack. Seen a few around £20k.

Any thoughts on the Q4 around £20k?

Like most EVs they have depreciated badly, do you think they'll continue or will level out soon?

Also they have a 8 year battery warranty which will expire in a few years?

They have a problem with coolant getting into the motors which is an expensive fix.
Supposedly servicing at the correct intervals stops this happening but there are stories of it still happening.
Stopped the Q4 being on my shortlist.

Thank, I did read about this being on the early models. I believe this was sorted when the Q4 got the AP550 motor in 2024?

If so, there above my budget!

I’d rather risk a new Chinese/Korean/Japanese car over a 3-4 year old Q4! Reliability, range, battery health, cost of spares and repairs,…. You feeling lucky?!
