I've placed an order for a Cupra Raval VZ, but I'm getting concerned by the number of software issues being reported on forums and groups.
Seems like another car that was launched before the software was working properly.

I remember VW having similar problems with their earlier EVs. Were these problems eventually sorted?

Volvo were another offender with the EX30, and 2 years later they still aren't fixed.

It's been a problem with VW group cars for years, both ICE and EV.

A lad at work had a 2018 S3 and the digital dash would always turn off and restart itself. My friend has a Q6 at the moment and again the digital dash sometimes doesn't turn on so he has no speed or it will all freeze and has to be reset. Somebody else at work has an ID3 and also has dash issues. That's a period of 8 years with both EV and ICE and it's a common theme. Another friend has an EX30 too and has no end of software issues with it. He's been without it the last few months waiting for the update to correct the battery problem because he was advised to not charge above a certain percentage due to a fire risk and his courtesy car during that time has the same software bugs.

Then again I see people post in Renault groups about restarting infotainment screens and crashes and mine hasn't done it once in 10k. Luck of the draw like anything. I wouldn't worry about it.

If it fails to proceed then at least VW Group Assist generally works pretty well!

It's the only reason I knocked ID3 off our (secondhand) list of cars.
Ended up with Polestar 2 and so far have had one issue where it did an update overnight and took a minute to start up when we drove off. Rock solid otherwise.

A friend of mine purchased a new Tiguan a the beginning of the year.
He got a call for a software update, they wanted the car for 3 days to do it!
Gave him a Polo courtesy car.
He finally got it back 8 weeks later after threatening via a solicitor's letter to reject the car.

Our 2023 Born has had a few issues. It had the battery/ charging recall and yes took a coupe of weeks to update the software, but the courtesy car is fine.

Had an occasional spontaneous reboot, but maybe 4 or 5 times since we've had it. Occasionally won't connect to the phone.

Id ike it to be perfect but it's not bad enough to be remarkable.

Now the coolant and condenser leak, that's an entirely different 12 month saga. Hopefully fixed now.
