I can remember back inn 2003 that they used to run cars up the runway late into the evening - I'm guessing this stopped years back....or am i wrong?

I haven't seen it myself but have heard they still sometimes use it.

Yes, most years there is at least one team using the airport for last minute testing/shakedown. Usually earlier on during the week and sometimes on the Friday too.

I saw this as well, I think it was on Friday morning during the pit walk, I wandered up onto the grandstands above the pits and could see the Porsches running up and down the runway.

Seem to recall this is now banned - though 'force majeure' might be a way around it!!

"Year before last one of the flying lizard porsches was doing runs up and down the runway."

So that's where they'd been. Took ages to get off the flatbed with so little clearance.
