Today I cleaned the TVR, checked levels and put it back in the garage under a dust sheet.

Inside I have the majority of my camping gear, the paperwork required for French driving along with my hi-viz and bulb kits, oil, water and jump leads.

The next time I open the doors and fire it up, we'll be heading to LM

My living room is now strewn with items for the annual pilgrimage - every year the girlfriend asks whether its necessary to actually have the gazebo, coolbox, tent etc in front of the tv!!! The answer of course is YES!! Its gonna seem like a long week at work even if it is a 4 day one!

won't be in that position till Sunday, however I'm in Spain and don't have a dustsheet!
I have some concerns over how much gear my 2 mates are going to want to take though, one of them is over 50 and took an airbed last time!

Can I add that I have a BMW, Mercedes 500 SEC and a Caterham, all on the street in London - and that all I want is a TVR.

When I moved to this country in 2003 (most gracious to Benefactor Brown or Scots Gordon Land, he tax me special - he rode me, good, told me - me likey)

I had hardly seen a TVR. The 2003 Canary Wharf Motor Expo sealed the deal. 2005 Le Mans was the beginning.

Nice work. Picked up my2001 RS4 Avant on Thursday. Not sure I'm going to get a long run in it before Le Mans, so fingers crossed everything's as it should be. 2nd Le Mans, travelling down with a bunch of newbies. Very excited!

Legality wise:

Hi Viz vest (within reach in cabin) for each passenger
V5 & MOT
Insurance certificate showing European cover
Driving license (both parts)
Spare bulb kit
Warning triangle
GB sticker
Headlight adjusters

Desirable: European breakdown cover

Probably forgotten something (trying to remember what I've put in the car today)

I think you only need one in the cabin now, not one per passenger. You do need to add a first aid kit.

Also not sure you need the MoT?

I'm getting a little bit confussed by this legal requirements business! Everyone, and seemingly every source of information supplys different levels of 'requirements'.

Here's a link to the AA's site on this matter:

....but that doesn't tally with the leaflet that Halfrauds produce, or the comments above!

For example, the AA say nothing about bulbs. First aid kits are recomended but not required, only one hi-viz vest, etc...

It is confusing.

As I understand it:

Required: - first aid kit, warning triangle, one hi viz coat in the cabin of the car, headlamp converters, GB sticker (or GB numberplate surround)

Suggested - bulb kit (the law in France doesn't "require" you to carry a bulb kit, but if you have a blown bulb you cannot move the car, so carrying a spare set makes sense).

Well I was going in THIS, that I just happened to buy 3 weeks before Le Mans (sssh don't tell the wife)



unfortunately a Volvo driver didn't look where he was going and it's now looking like this



so it's the daily toilet for Le Mans this year

I dont think i'd have been able to hold back my rage at the incompetant driver. Hope you get it fixed up soon!

Regarding getting ready-

Still need to order some camping cooking equipment.. i wouldnt mind a fold out Gazeebo but its £85 or more i can do without spending HOPE it doesnt rain lol.
Still to sort Euro's out and pack cloathes - might do some shopping in town before watching Senna at the pics on Friday.. packing nothing but shorts - True Brit !
