Last year, I had a pre-booked/allocated space parking at the circuit (I stay a few miles away); this year, I have gone for a shuttle bus option from my campsite to the circuit, with no pre-booked parking. The dumb question is, if I decide I want to drive on one of the days, which parking areas are non-pre-booked, ie., turn up and pay on the day...? A bit of googling has shown me lots of parking areas, but not whether they must be booked - I am sure some must be accessible without booking...

All info gratefully received.

Can't say for sure but I thought the one at the airport was pay as you arrive.

You can park on the side ofthe road past the airfield if you can find a space

I seem to recall that all the official parking is prepaid, but at the back of my mind I also seem to think that Parking Rouge is available on the gate. Call the ACO, they should know!

Hi chap - did you get my email about the event 'Caring with Cars' a few weeks ago?

Err... no. The e-mail address that is connected to my profile is not monitored very often. Sorry - must remember to check it regularly. Tell me what I missed..??

As to the parking query, thanks for the contributions. In the end, I parked on the verge of road that runs down between the circuit and the airport (the "Boulevard des Italiens" apparently), on the Friday, without much trouble. Also parked in town on the Friday evening for the driver's parade, again without too much trouble (if a bit of a walk).

The bus transfers from the campsite were a bit fewer and further between than I had orginally thought, but worked out quite well - meant that, apart from other things, when we discovered a purveyor of G&Ts at the Tetre Rouge bar, I could indulge safely.

Would probably do the same arrangement again, I think.

I was wondering if you fancied coming to our large event near Bristol with your Alpine:

You might have seen the article on the PH homepage a couple of days ago.

No worries. It's a cool car!

There are only 13 spaces left on the list as we have 387 cars attending.

@NLB

Slightly O/T but I note from another post that you were staying at the same campsite as us. Was the shuttle bus available to book on it's own from Speedchills? We tend to book our stay direct with the site to keep costs down but use of the shuttle bus would've been handy.

Cheers.

I am really not sure... I booked the whole thing through Speed Chills for the purposes of simplicity (I've found them efficient and it does make life easier), and the coach was an option which I took up. There were some seats available, so I am sure they'd have sold you some - but you'd have to ask them for a definite answer, I am afraid.

Cool - if you are coming, can you pop onto the car list and add yourself:
