How many Pit Stops at LeMans?

I am watching LeMans free practise live at the moment.

I think it would be really good to go and want to go next year.

I'm only 8 but have been camping at Silverstone and to races a few times and think LeMans would be really exciting, especially in the night time.

I would like to know how many, on average, pit stops does a car make in the 24 hours?

If you lke Silverstone, you'll love Le Mans. Go to the 1000km ILMC race in September there and walk around the track, sit opposite the pits and take it all in. It's a long day, but, you will like it.

As for stops, most cars will pit duing the race at about the 45/50 minute mark. Audi last year did 13 lap stints which works out at 33 stops in the race. A lot of the time double stints on the tyres/drivers (thank you Paul Truswell)

It's the International Le Mans Cup, it incorporates the LMS (or other way round)

My error, it's a 6hour race
