PH Le Mans 'Friday Service'

Sticky goings-on at Le Bounty Auberge

Pie, beers and stickered-up cars. It's probably not what the makers of a certain piece of confectionary envisaged when they came up with the line 'a taste of paradise', but it certainly is appropriate to today's PH Le Mans meet at Le Bounty Auberge.

Ordinarily our Sunday Services provide a fine range of metal, but Le Mans always brings the creative out in people, so as well as the usual in fast cars, we've been treated to everything from a gull-winged Allegro to a quartet of homages to American road movies (complete with cheeky signs).

While those of us who could make it have enjoyed the London Pride and a fine range of pies, we can't share that with you. But here's a little taste of what you've been missing.

So pleased to see my mates on their stag-do trip's cars have been spotted (The Nissan 100NX come delorean, BMW come POlice car, Citroen come ATeam van and Merc come Trans Am).

Theyve put A LOT of work in to those cars. All the lights and sirens work too!!!

Shame i couldnt be there with them.

Great meet chaps, we rocked up in the striped M3 and Mk2 Astra, well done to all those involved in organising the event. Got some good pics but will have to wait till we get back to blighty.

Now getting back to some hard core drinking after a hilarious time at the drivers parade.......

I think that Cappucino wins for "PH pride". Perhaps it's the spiritual descendent of that A-H Sprite behind it!

Also noticed that the "camo" on this one is made up of famous race tracks: Monza in grey on the rear door, and La Sarthe is the big white one on the rear quarter/c-pillar with Suzuka Circuit to the right.

Very clever!

Have you seen the way the cars' "call-signs" spell C U N T too? Mental!
Are they enjoying their first parent-free overnight trip?

You may mock, but with a budget of less than £500 per car they have sourced, modified (including 1 having a replacement gearbox) and prepared 4x cars in just a couple of months purely for the purpose of giving a mate of ours a decent stag do at Le Mans.

Not all for nothing though, appears they won a prize from PH at the Friday service too. I guess most other people get the joke!!

Any chance of a photie of the gull-winged allegro? Would make an interesting counterpoint to the scissor-doored one...

Hate to be picky, and correct me if I'm wrong, but are they not "lambo" doors? Gull-wings hinge from the top non...

Still some cracking car though, top effort!
