Who watched every single lap of the Le Mans 24hr?

Am I the only geek on ere that watched every single lap on the Le Mans 24hrs race on the telly?

It was punishment for not going down this year! lolol

Bloody long race, there might have been points where the safety car was out for 2hrs like the 2nd Audi crash where I might have nodded off, but thats only fair! lolol

I managed to watch 18hours, I had to go out for 2 hours Saturday night and 2 hours Sunday morning and slept for 2 hours on the lounge floor from 7am to 9am, when I woke up it felt like i had been sleeping on my flat air bed in the tent.

Done 24hrs trackside a few times now, allowing for walking/driving to different corners and eating etc, saw whole races.

Not this though.

I managed 19 hours track side this year, I took a couple of hours off for dinner and to get some kip between 3 and 5am. Viewing split between Dunlop/straight/arnage/mulsanne and it was bloody great! I saw the Mcnish crash first hand and it was quite scary

I got back from 2 weeks in Majorca at 5.30pm on saturday - TV went straight until 2am the following morning as was knackered & needed some sleep.

TV back on at 6.30am until noon when i went to christening so what i didnt watch (between 2am & 6.30am and noon until the end of the race was recorded for me to watch this week.

I also watched the highlights on Eurosport last night as well!!!

Sorry guys, but "get a life"!!!

I have been a number of times and haven't even watched half the race on a single visit. There are too many other things to do there, like drink beer, have a BBQ, hang out with your mates, oggle the nice cars. There's the big wheel with views of the track, the concerts, the museum, the merchandise stalls...

I can't think of anything worse than watching all 24 hours. Especially with the quality of the commentary on Radio Le Mans this year. Don't get me wrong - the RLM guys do a great job, but this year it just didn't seem to be as good as normal.

We go for the ambiance, the race and the cameraderie and 'craic' of three lads away for a week. We watch probably only 2-3 hours trackside and another 2-3 hours on Eurosport back at the campsite whilst eating and drinking. The rest of the time we watch qualifying, pit walk and generally get pissed in town on the Friday night. Mostly it's a good laugh with a brilliant race thrown in for good measure.

I will agree that the commentary was not as good as I had hoped but watching the race was definitely the highlight. In the past I have drunk more beer and got bored with the race but unless you follow it you wont understand it as well.

Still, it serves something for everyone including that those that wonder what all the loud cars are

Cars? What cars?!! One year I reckon I only watched an hour at the start, an hour at night and an hour at the end. And we were there for a whole week! I still have great memories of that holiday.
