Every bloody year we get thread after thread of people complaining about going to the bits of Le Mans that are notorious for being full of chavs, and then being surprised/alarmed/shocked that the chavs acted like chavs.
FFS, we all know that some of the people who go every year are chavs and/or vandals, and we know for the most part where we they are likely to congregate and be obnoxious, drunk, violent, destructive, or a combination of all of the above.
If you're not one of them, and don't want your car damaged by them, then steer clear. Rather than going where the chavs are, getting offended by their antics or the damage they cause to your property, and complaining on here about it.
It sounds obvious, but rather than complaining about a
holes being aholes, just avoid them completely!!!!

They may be monumentally drunk spacktards, but they have an annoying habit (purely down to luck rather than intelligence) of congregating alongside roads which have the most traffic. It is, therefore, practically impossible to avoid them when trying to enter any of the campsites around the circuit.If you're not one of them, and don't want your car damaged by them, then steer clear. I suspect we got back into Houx sufficiently early to avoid the worst of them, but there was still a 50 yard stretch of road with drunk morons trying to get me to do a burnout in a 7 series automagic barge which was loaded with people and stuff in the boot...
So, if you can find a way for me to avoid them I will happily do so, but it's firmly in the 'easier said than done' category.
See also getting people to turn their stereos down, despite a) being asked nicely and b) being shouted at (partly because the stereo was so loud...).
High spirits are one thing, lack of respect for peoples' cars and generally acting like
s is quite another...Oh, and you seem to have doubled the number of threads about chavs with this thread...
I was camping for the first time this year and we avoided chavs by staying at Porsche Curves, but we wanted to walk up to the main entrance, so we had to walk up along the west edge of the circuit - where most of the complained about chav antics were going on. I did see some super-soaking action going on, but from what I could see it was nothing worse than water at the time and no-one was getting too arsy if people didn't want to do a burn-out, but I can see how it would only need to jump up a notch to become pretty unpleasant.
I think it is fair to say that lots of people's Le Mans were spoilt by chavvy behaviour and that most of them certainly didn't go looking for it, so I am all up for criticising such behaviour to keep things the right side of the line. If we don't criticise it and suggest it is all part of the great experience, then all the chavs on here will think that is actually what it is all about and go just to be chavvy, rather than to enjoy a petrolhead nirvana, great racing and camraderie, which is surely what it has always been about.
People who are primarily there to ruin it for other people can stay well away as they add nothing but detract everything for some people.

Yes. Well behaved civilised people. Those are the ones who should be inconvenienced.
