So what were your 2011 le mans highlights/ memorable moments?
1. Highlight was mrs webby74 getting the team shirt we made up signed by her hero, Andy priaulx at the drivers parade along with Dirk muller, who modified the shirt to include his and Joey hands names before signing. Real nice guys to chat to. Framed already and waiting to be mounted on the wall.
2. Memorable moment. The silence at Mulsanne corner after watching The Mcnish crash on the big screen, Followed by huge applause when he finally got out of the car.
Also...
Most surreal moment for me was sitting in one of the bars after the parade with a 007, Turner t-shirt on, when i get a tap on the shoulder. Looked up to be greeted by the future mrs turner who complemented me on the shirt design, then explained to us the problems with the car and how p****d of Darren was with the pace of it, had some photos taken then proceeded to get sit back down with her friends and was totally hammered by the time Darren came to collect her!

Ford GT getting 3rd. My SEAT could've gone faster, no, hang on, worse than that, the Jap Lambo could've probably beaten it, with the Jag XKR in second.

And has ever been thus - many races had an initial flurry and then settled down to a gentler race pace as reliability wasn't anything like as good as today. Although I do sort of miss the walking wounded making it out for the last lap to try and get classified, coughing, smoking and dragging themselves round for one last lap.
LMP2 car going off literally infront of my nose at Porsche Curves in the 23rd/24th hour. I literally have no idea what the car was I as I was approaching the grave in terms of conciousness. But I just stood there leaning on the barrier hearing it come in to fast.. back end.. skip skip skip... bang into the wall.
Seeing the #2 Audi battering it with the 4 Peugeot's in tow hour after hour.
Standing on the roof of the bars in the Village with Radio Le Mans in my left ear. The music playing, crowd packed in, and watching it all set off going up into dunlop. Covered in goosebumps whilst being fairly hot, just knowing that exact moment I'm there to see what I love. Don't think I'll ever forget that.

Covered in goosebumps whilst being fairly hot, just knowing that exact moment I'm there to see what I love. Don't think I'll ever forget that.

+1I was so nervous the last half hour willing the #73 to make it to the finish and to get the class victory, if anything had gone wrong, puncture etc. it would have lost to the Ferrari.
Great to see the Larbre Corvette take the GTE AM Class victory too.
Lowlight was the #74 crashing out from the GTE PRO Class lead when Jan Magnussen lost it and hit the Porsche just before the Ford Chicane.....was watching it on the Corvette Corral TV and literally as they showed the pics of the car stationary in the gravel trap at pit entry the generator failed and we lost the TV!
Meeting Le Pop etc for Guinness at lunchtime on Saturday was also a highlight
The moment the light is fading and the lights in the pitlane start to be noticed. Night time is coming, and makes the event what it is.
Also the collective joy of the crowd when mcnish got out the car and none of the people behind the tyre barrier were injured.
Track invasion always a good way of finishing off the race as well.

Highlights: Driving my little MX5 enthusiastically through the right/left at Indianapolis on the Monday before leaving.
The start, always makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.
Getting up at 4:30 on Sunday morning to watch the sun rise with my wife and friends.
Button winning the GP and the whole Speedchills beer tent standing and singing the national anthem when he was on the podium.
Lowlights: The French family infront of me clapping when McNish crashed. Though to be fair, when I indicated that perhaps they shouldn't, they did look a bit sheepish and then genuinely applauded when he got out of the car.

Watching at Mulsanne Corner from around 02:30 until sunrise. My favourite place at that time, just watching the sky gradually getting lighter and lighter. The battle between the one remaining Audi and the works Peugeots was immense.
Brilliant podium for GT Academy winner Lucas Ordonez in his first Le Mans, and only his third season of racing.
And this, every time its fabulous V12 howled by. Bet Prodrive / AMR wish they'd still got a couple of Gulf-liveried ones instead of the hopeless AMR-One...

For me it is clear, it may not be a true highlight more of a moment I will never forget, that is listening to radio Le Mans from Blue Nord (whilst BBQ'ing) as the classic practice was in full swing and listening to Sir Stirling Moss retiring live on air in a slighly dazed & confused voice. Listening to that gave me goosebumps.
Lowlight has to be the fact that his parade lap on saturday was never really organised or advertised and he appeared out of the pits far to quickly to get a decent picture. Can't help but think if he had been French it would have had a little more thought!!
