Looks like Friday's stage should include some familiar sights.

Only if it starts/passes by the Cathederal/Place de Jacobeans, as it heads east and goes nowhere near the circuit.

Why? They are two different sports. Neither needs the other, I believe a few years ago they did use the circuit for s bit (please correct me if i'm wrong) but why do it each time?

I know they're a different sport. Not asking them to race an LMP 1 car around.

Dunno if they have been there in the past.

One of the big points of the tour de France is the fact that it shows off France.

It would offer a point of interest on the days stage and good shots for the tv.

The worlds biggest cycle race following the route of the most important endurance race in the world.

That's a pretty nice thing for France to show off.

LM has been a Tour Town on 7 previous occasions. I agree about showing off France, but as it's the start, that rarely gets any coverage, Eurosport and ITV4 all start from about and hour in, so that would be missed. Perhaps as part of a (T)TT? it'd work.

I think it starts at the MMArena midday, I'll pay a visit never been to the start before but seen it passing 5 times through the Sarthe.
