Le Mans Tram between Town and Track

Hi Guys

Looking at booking a hotel for 2012 24hr and getting a bit lost on the trams! Does anyone know if the link between the centre of town and the circuit is usable? and if people were to wimp out at say 1am would be be able to get back to town?

Used the tram the last two years from Houx to the centre for the drivers parade, really easy option.

Last tram on a Friday back to track used to be about 1am but might run later now.

Think they run all night to and from the circuit on the Saturday

Use Google Translator. This will translate the page for you. I've used this a lot to secure our Spay chalets for next year and also used to get the chalets this year.

Honaires= timetable

Plan = routes

Acceuil = news

tarif = prices

Antares = Antares which is the concert venue at the track

Centre Ville = City centre

This is really all you need to know - I am no wizz in French at all but using the tram is as easy as falling off a log.

I bought tickets last year but didn't use them as it was too crowded. I will use them next year.

Incase anyone doesn't know. A single ticket buys you 1 hours travel on the tram and bus network so if you can get to the shops say and back within the hour you don't need a return ticket. Or if you fancy a swim/slide/being drowned in a rapids slide thing that feels like you're in a washing machine at the Aquatique centre (tram stop Atlantides Sablons and walk across foot bridge over river) which means a change of tram at Saint Martin you still only need 1 ticket as long as the journey is finished within an hour of the time the ticket is stamped.

Recommend the Swimming pool on a hot day but I did discover you need speedos/trunks NOT swimming shorts. Luckily/very unluckily they lent me a pair from lost property so I didn't have to do it in my pants and vest.

Buy a "carnet". 3 day unlimited travel, around €10.

It takes about 40 mins for the journey if I remember correctly. And I may not be
remembering correctly, on account of being permanently extremely drunk, and I
arrived on Monday.
