Le Mans 2012 will see the inaugral Frisbeer competition at Camping Blue. After many years of perfecting the perfect combination of frisbee and beer, frisbeer was born and it's now time to open the event to the general public!

All you need to take part is an arm, a mouth and some beer.

Watch this space for more information nearer the magical weekend.

There is no better way to spend a weekend than warming up for an awesome race with a day playing the greatest drinking game ever invented. Love it.

Current plan is for the Thursday afternoon before the race to be open to any fellow PHer's who wish to join us.

A word of warning, Frisbeer is an intense drinking game, regardless of how good you are at frisbee, you will get wasted and if that doesn't appeal, please don't come!

Good work. Early planning is the key to success!

The rules are pretty simple. There are two posts about 10 metres apart. Each has an empty bottle of Biere Blonde/33 Export/Kronenbourg on top of it. Each team (1-3 people) stands behind their chosen post and tries to knock the oposition's empty bottle off with a frisbee. If you hit they drink, if you miss you invariably drink, if they drop the frisbee they drink, if you drop the frisbee you drink etc.

There is also a scoring system, but this is secondary to the drinking aspect!

Sledging and general abuse of the opposition is of course encouraged.

should be an olympic discipline to go before ladies beach volley (which I may say is a fine sport )

I like you're thinking! Unfortunately bikini glad girls are a bit thin on the ground at Le Mans. Maybe we should rope in the Hawaian Tropic girls...

As a last resort, I reckon we could get the angry smurf to wear a bikini, not sure it's gonna draw in the crowds though.

A man wearing a bikini covered in cuts, grazes and bruises, only at Le Mans could this be acceptable behaviour.

Sorry to burst some part of your bubble here but Frisbeer is not a new invention. A chap I work with is a boderline frisbee pro and plays twice a week, and has done for many years. He says this game is as old as the hills and nothing new, however he did confirm it is great fun.

Then drag your mate down to Le Mans and he is more than welcome to play (on my team of course if he is a 'semi pro' frisbeerer).
We never claimed to have invented the game, just perfected it! From a brief scout of the internet I think the game is mostly played by Americans and the focus is on scoring points, not getting your oponnent blind drunk!

Don't get me wrong, it sounds like very very good fun and hopefully we'll get a game in with you. I'm not that great at frisbee though so I spy another Le Mans day time hangover in my future!

Frisbeer without getting drunk, what's the point. Clearly this game was invented to properly waste a day in a beautiful alcohol induced haze. I for one cannot wait for the day time hang over.

What-ho chaps. I rather like the idea of Frisbeer and have enough talented comrades to put together a good team. I do have a couple of reservations and questions though.
One of our afore mentioned team is what can only be described as a social-hangrinade. With Beer in the mix this will make the 'team' very prone to the sledging and jeering antics that the opposition will fling in our direction. So will this be a fatal drawback or do you think the tom-foolery can be spun and used as an offence weapon?
Secondly, and of more imporatance, what is the attire? Surely the teams will have to ensure that one wears an away kit to avoid (drunken) confusion of exactly who is who.
Yours, Lord lah-dee-da of Lotus

Social handgrenade...brilliant!!

Frisbeer is a bit like rugby in that it is a game for hooligans played by gentleman. More specifically all banter must be good natured and amusing and all players must wear hats. Other than that it's a pretty simple afair.

See you in June!

I like hat rule, the only dilemma is trilby or deer-stalker.

Every year I face the same hat dilemma, and regardless of what hat is chosen I still end up looking retarded.

Pity we basically keep the hat rule for the whole weekend and subsequently I end up feeling like I'm still wearing a hat for about 2 weeks after the event.

can the chaps stying a La Houx get in to play?

Our Frisbee game is pretty big, once asked at centre parcs if your frisbee was remote controlled!

You know playa!
