Motorway Speed Limits and Rain

OK,
Motorway speed limits for wet and dry roads are 110KPH and 130 KPH respectively, but does the rain limit apply when the road is damp or actually raining?

Answers on a postcard please?

The rule is if you need to use your wipers then it applies, so thats rain or spray

I use Rain-x, am I exempt?

In seriousness though, it was something my mate and I were asking ourselves on the drive down in June. Fortunately we didn't do any driving in the wet so it wasn't an issue.

Its an unwritten rule (and not the law) if you need to use your wipers then its wet.

IIRC mist, moist, damp, fog, torrential downpour is all the same, over 110km in those conditions?

^ this is correct, if in their opinion the driving conditions are "wet" then they can and will take you to the big house.
