Another Camping question

Morning,
Booked my ticket last night and now looking into camping, I know it’s a bit late but nothing I could do about that
Contemplating booking our camping with speed chills but they seem quite tight on the space available for car and tents so was just wondering how strict are the public ACO camp sites on space? For example I would quite like to put up a small canvas for us to sit under and get merry and it looks like this is not possible with speed chills.

Are you looking at a 7x5m plot? We manage to get a car, two tents and a gazebo on one of those with space for bbq and a beer mountain. Depends on how many people you have in your party really. Some campsites dont have alloted pitches.
Is the 7x5m Plot in the public camping?We are taking 2 cars and 2 tents and would like a Small Gazebo as well.
Reason why I ask is because if you look here on speed chills site it doesnt looks like there is room...

You will need 2 x plots of 7 x 5 for that lot no question. We are taking 2 cars 4 small tents or 1 big one plus a 7ft x 7ft gazebo. Public sites are all 7m x 5m and are marked so no nicking extra space like we used to. . . . . . . .We are taking 2 cars and 2 tents and would like a Small Gazebo as well.

I think of it like the ACO trying to adjust the car performances, it creates a challege to see how much kit you can squeeze into a pitch/pitches. It was too easy when you could just rope off your own area!

BEER: Last year they were funny about having glass bottles inside the circuit area (Campsites: Tertre Rouge, Houx, Maison Blanche, Garage vert, Interieur Musee are all inside perimeter fence). We found the best deal was buying cans on the ferry. Worked out even cheaper than bottled beer in France.
To keep it cool the very basic way is 1 coolbox filled to brim with very big blocks of ice from freezer at home and 2nd coolbox to keep beers in and introduce 1 block of ice at a time so lid isn't being took off one with ice too much.
FOOD: Le Clerc at Boulogne (just off motorway before viaduct), Le Clerc at Alencon (just off motorway south outskirts of town) or 1 of the ones in Le Mans (Carrefour very busy and can run short on things so best to choose a more obscure one).
ENTERTAINMENT:
Euro football 2 games every night. Stella Bar on outside of Tertre Rouge corner or tram into town (cheap beer in Irish Bar).
Wednesday late afternoon/evening Practice
Thursday late afternoon/evening Qualifying
Friday day car shows and pits, Friday night Drivers Parade in town, France game then England game and beer. (Last tram back usually 1am).
Saturday day/night & Sunday day racing.
Sunday night football in Stella Bar or beer and chat in campsite while watching the strange things that only happen on the Sunday night!

Depending on the supermarkeyt offers in the UK (and indeed what your poison is) and the exchange rate it may be cheaper to buy beer / cider etc in the uk and transport it if you've the space. That said, we always buy when we're in Le Mans (other than stuff like malt scotch)

If you can squeeze 15 people into one pitch you can but you are only allowed one car/minibus/van/ambulance etc on each pitch. However, If you bought four Campsites you can have four cars parked on one and your tents etc on the other three. Lots of variations. General rule of thumb as mentioned for each pitch, one car 2 people until you get to say 6 people in 2 cars you will be better off with 3 campsites. We have been with as little as 2 of us and as many as 10 all in one group. When 10 of us went in five cars we had six campsites which gave as loads of room but we did have a 9 metre marquee, 2 showers, a toilet and 3 huge tents.
As for where to buy food/beer we find the best think tp do is stop on the way down, for many years now we have driven from Calais past rouen and then stopped on the old n138 for a break, shopping and to have lunch, plenty of towns on the old road and the supermarkets there will not be expensive like calais or stripped of things like le mans.
La gaz, Broglie, brione are all nice places to stop but we tend to use Bernay large Supermarket has everything you will need and a very cheap restaurent plus cheapest fuel makes a great place to meet others if you get split up on the way down and it means that you can stock up enough beer (in large kegs or cans) plus wine in barrels to last a day or two at the campsite
By the way the campsites are friendly places so you will often find that campers either side are happy to share space and after a day or two gazebo's and cooking/BBQ tend to become communal anyway
