All booked up and raring to go.

I reach a rather significant mile stone age wise this year and to mark the occasion I have taken the bull by the horns and instead of saying we must do Le Mans one of these years I have today booked the admission tickets and parking for this years bash. This was the final major piece of the jigsaw as I booked campsites and tunnel crossings late last year. Now we have got a few months to tick off everything that needs to go as its a long way to haul from Fife to find you've left something vital at home.
Anyway have spent most of the winter scouring sites such as this trying to pick up tips to make it a successful trip so all you folk on here can brace yourselves for some daft questions such as can you walk all the way round the 8 or so miles of the track etc etc.
Enjoying the Piston Heads site this far, some good stuff on the Forums.

Yea as Great Dane said, you can drive some of it. On Monday after the race you can drive the Mulsanne straight and chicanes and through Indianapolis and Arnage.
You are kidding on aren't you,I'm there until the Tuesday after the race.I presume the parts you mention are the public road sections and are re-opened for day to day use and not still closed off so you can give it big licks.Fordy Bob said:

Yes public bits only ! Reletavely limited but we have done the full Mulsanne and chicanes and Indy through Arnage. It's something better than nowt !Probably a bit of a daft question,I have all my tickets etc booked and paid for but my son wont know if he can get away from London for the weekend of the race until late at the last minute, can he pay at the gate as it were on the day of the race as it could be that late when he arrives.

Where you camping? Could be inconvenient if you are in say Tertre Rouge. Though GE are readily available 'on the door' I've found in the past that it's best to buy in advance if you are in one of the camping area that also requires GE access.
Staying at Chateau Du Chantaloupe,so a good bit from the circuit will be traveling in every day.So paying at the gate would suit him as he will doubtless appear round about formation lap time on Saturday,Hi Fordy Bob
