Hi

I've been on the web for about 30 minutes trying to find out what time the race finishes this year so I can get back on the eurotunnel sunday night - but can't find anything.

I've been loads of times before - but can't remember what time it finishes.

Does anyone know the finish time??

Cheers

The football shouldn't effect start/finish time this year as they're all evening games. I remember one year which I think was a world cup year they moved it back an hour but I guess there's no reason for it be moved from 3pm this year.

Given the following on the official lemans.org homepage...

"Saturday 16th June 2012, 15h00: Fifty−six cars will be unleashed..."

and assuming the race is still 24hrs long... 3PM CET.

The normal start time is 4pm but you can trust me on this its 3pm start amd 3pm finish for this year , if you don,t believe me go on the official ACO web site and check it out simples as the meercat says

No wonder I was confused. Here's what's been going on the past few years!

"Traditionally until 2008, the race started at 16:00 on the Saturday, although in 1968 the race started at 14:00 due to the lateness of the race on the calendar. In both 1984 and 2007, the start time was moved ahead to 15:00 due to the conflicting French General Election. In 2006, the ACO scheduled a 17:00 start time on Saturday, 17 June in order to maximize television coverage in between the FIFA World Cup games. In 2009 the race took place over 13–14 June and started at 15:00 local time (13:00 GMT), and has started at that time ever since." (Wikipedia)

Hope thats clear. lol

the race finishes at 3.00pm and if you park the car fully packed up near an exit you can watch the cars go past on the last lap and head home listening to RLM until a few miles north of le mans, with luck you can be at rouen by 5.00 or 5.30 but beware of the speed traps they will be every on the run back to the coast. you should be able to get a ferry/tunnel just after 8.00
so book a later crossing and with any luck if you are there earlier you can get an earlier one, but don't book a crossing any earlier as if you miss it you will be charged extra
