It must be good. £690 for two people to camp or have I got that wrong ? Equivalent Houx for two using Eurotunnel, general entry tickets is £350 and that's paying about 15% extra through a car club. Obviously don't get the extras like marquee with telly or better showers but twice the price seems a lot ? Can anyone convince me it's worth it ? I understand the site is trackside and on the Porsche Curves, has English speaking security and the review on Beermountain is good, so I thought I would give it a whirl...
Excellent camping there and safe for you and your car. My son and I are going again, for the fourth time. Good location short walk to see the action as well, the staff and food is good everybody very kind and helpful. There are large TV's within a large tent area, toilets and showers clean and tidy hot water. We are going on the Thursday, return on the Monday from Dover.

All viewing is subjective, inside of Porsche Curves is a fantastic viewing location. Also check out like for like prices and wether the facilities are in fact the same the same before always worth chatting through before making any booking? Different size pitches no travel,always worth phoning up and talking to someone about your booking.Much better location than the Porsche curves and significantly cheaper with much the same facilities. It might be a bit late to secure a place there this year, but worth taking a look for 2013.

For me it's worth every penny. I've done the general camping thing and found it far from relaxing, The village is just such a great time. Personally I appreciate a hot shower and clean loos....part of getting old! Also the village food is tops and really good value, the circuit food is generally fried nastiness and the beer is expensive. The food at the village is on par with the best you'd get in a UK pub, I spend more and get less on the circuit.
I really like the location, Porsche curves are great, an interesting place to watch. We generally walk to tetre rouge for the start and wind our way back, it's a haul but a bit of exercise does us good. The village are putting on shuttle buses this year as well. The Saturday night barbecue is fantastic. I guess it depends on what matters to you most, for me the village is a really good atmosphere, has security (important on the Sunday when the general camping sites get a little tense), brilliant food, full of happy people enjoying the race with a good mix of ages and cars.

Well, it's one of the many benefits of forums - sometimes they go a bit off topic, sometimes they go very off topic.As Porkieboy quite rightly pointed out - a lot of it (eg views of racing) is quite subjective.
We've always stayed on ACO sites and we've never had issues with safety / security in all the years we've been going, although I appreciate some (and also some who have parked on private sites) have.
Chris Hazle spoke highly of what was the Porsche Owners Village, now the village on the curves - clearly you're an advocate of it - others who've posted here are, in my humble opinion, just expressing their views and experiences.
When it was Porsche Owners Village it was never really for us for a number of reasons, so we didn't look into it any further. The organiser of the village on the curves posted an invitation on another (web)site for us to go and have a shufti at it, so may take them up on it this year.
1st Tickets Team Langoustine, Speedchills (airtrack) also run private sites, so anyone looking for safety and security would probably do well to compare a few of the different offerings and make an informed choice.
Hoping everyone enjoys LM 2012 irrespective of where they pitch up - just over three months now!
Three months I can't wait! Could be a really interesting race this year, despite no Peugeot Audi battle. Some really interesting cars, turnsout the Audi is a Quattro hybrid, a bit different! The delta wing would be great to see, I just hopes it makes the race. Just such a good way to Spend a fews days with some mates, highlight of my year. Beer, cars, noise, mates, no kids, no work, bring it on.....
