Just started watching "Le Mans", and now have a burning need to go driving through the quiet back roads of rural France in a classic 911.

Two small issues:

1. I don't have a classic 911

2. I'm on another continent... (currently out in Asia)

So, in a word, bugger frown

Going to be missing the main race this year, but will have to make do with the Classic in July. Can't wait !! Only 2 months away now !

I did the same yesterday. The film is wickedly 70's, the long pause on the barrier at the beginning looks really dated! I wish the roads to le mans were that quiet these days

I bought Le Mans on blue-ray a few weeks ago. It is an awesome film on the blue-ray. Some of the shots look as though McQueen & the cars are about to jump out of the screen at you.

As for the sound through my surround sound system.... stunning & takes me back to the glory days of racing.

Wish also that I had a 911 & some quite French country roads on which to play. I do have a Gulf jacked with the name Michael Delaney on it which cost me a fortune.

Wore it to the SIlverstone Classis last year & had some buffoon ask me who Michael Delaney was........

Did not feel inclined to answer him!

Just watching the film again now...

Have to say that the rods we use to the to/from Le Mans each year are exactly like those in the opening, and just as quiet!

It always amazes me just how 'empty' rural France is smile

No 911, but a very fast Caterham!

I have a tee shirt with that very photo on it - was asked to cover it up when I walked into a pub in Torquay. Told them to foxtrot oscar & went somewhere else.
