Are you going to watch the build up and race in a couple of weeks? They do a LOT of practice/qually in the days before, both day and nighttime. If you're going to see that, then I would imagine that the early test day would be a bit samey?

nope. at a wedding on race weekend so this would be my only opportunity to check the whole thing out. planning a weekend nearby and sounds like this would be a worthwhile detour. no?

If you can't make the race then testing can be interesting to watch, yes. I'm not sure how much time they tend to spend out on circuit on these types of days, though. Hopefully someone with a bit more knowlege will respond to your thread.

Just show her how far it is on a map to the nearest beach and suggest that she drives.

I would say YES, definately worth going. Your race ticket will get you in for free, or pay 10€ on the gate. Might be more for this year. Lot less people obviously. Most of the teams will be present. One year I went in on the saturday, and got up real close to the Aston Martin 007 car, in the paddock area. Sunday has occasional spots of rain announced, so a great chance to see spins at the first chicane.

Yeah i live around 3miles from the circuit. Handy. About your question, keeping the other half happy, how far do you want to travel to see the sea? Tours has plenty of shops, but no sea. Rennes or Nantes are nice. Depending on time and distance, I'd certainly try La Rochelle. If you are arriving by ferry into Normandie, try St Malo. Plenty of nice places on the island. Apparently theres even a fish & chip shop :-)

The cars only run on the Sunday but the teams will all be in situ for Saturday too

I think almost all the LM runners plus a few additional cars should show (notably the Sebastian Loeb oreca with Seb Lob himself driving.

Anyone know if testing day's usually televised? Might find a stream for it if it is.

You might like to try one streaming website. I can't actually mention it as big brother Pistonhead people will delete my comments, as they did once before when I mentioned it for the F1. So work it out.

i) 'a person who is accorded special privileges due to his or her status or importane' A clue, its three letters, and the first letter is the letter that comes after T in the alphabet.
ii) Right then add another word 'a ontainer commonly made out of cardboard'.
iii) Add these together, then add '.com', and then you'll get there. And click on motorsport. Have a look. Usual rules, like avoid accepting the pop ups, and don't download anything. Good luck !!

Radio Le Mans are saying on their site that they are the only source of live audio for the test day and there's no video coverage.

I was wondering what RML was running at le mans this year as usually support them as they're based in my town. Then just followed their truck back here. Didn't realise they were running the garage 56 Nissan!
