Documents & Duplicates
Discussion
May have been touched on before , but there are required documents you should have with you ( copies of the docs are also a good idea)
Apart from the obvious passports , tickets etc
You should have
Car Registration doc ( if you do not own the car/van , lease ? then you must have a letter of authority to take the car/van out of the UK )
Insurance doc ( if you do not have Europe cover have you sorted it ?)
MOT cert if car requires test
Driving licence ( both parts if you have a 2 part)
Also a good idea to have
Travel insurance doc, inc contact numbers
Credit card contact numbers ( for loss or other problems, did you inform your CC provider you are out the Country for a few days , some providers block transactions until security details are confirmed )
Photo copy of passport ( useful if you manage to loose the real thing)
Breakdown/recovery call center details, and cover document ( are you covered for Europe?)
Is your mobile phone set for roamimg ( dont forget to switch off data/internet roaming . unless you have prepaid bundle or prepaid sim for France )
This is not a definitive list ,but as seasoned travelers to France these are always in our car travel folder

Pre existing medical conditions written in french
News to me . do you have a reference to this ? just checked EHIC web site and no info on this , not a problem though just interested , my multi trip insurance has the info but in English .be interesting as to what babelfish makes of Myeloproliferative disorder ,Myéloprolifératifs humm not bad !
Cardiopathie ischémique I am impressed !!
We thats me sorted then . just hope the French medics understand , otherwise

No specific official advice - my own suggestion. Something that I had learnt the hard way when I needed painkillers because a kidney stone was passing when I was on holiday in France. It would have been much easier to flash a card to get them on the right path...
Re EHIC card - I always take it...
