Does any one know what the surface is like at Houx Annexe camping site?
ie Will tent pegs do, or do I need 6" nails?...as well as the Beer, of course..!

It was pretty loose last year, the soil is almost sandy. We hammered ours in with a hiking boot!

That depends where you are camping..

If you are up towards the circuit (to the left) it is sandy - if you are towards the entrance to the site (towards the right) it is quite grassy...
PS The low fence has been replaced by a wall








If you know your pitch letter and number you can get an idea where your site is

H17 is our pitch. Kettle will be on.

mmm I'd question tent pegs (standard issue) the last 2 years they haven't been great. I have just bought these to guarantee http://www.amazon.co.uk/Vango-Rock-Peg-23cm/dp/B00...

there are places in HA where if it rains hard anchors are more useful, but in general the ground on HA is good
