I've not been to the Classic before but everybody in the 3 car party has bailed out! Is anyone else out there thinking going solo? I've got the time booked off, the car being serviced etc just nobody with an interest in cars going mad :roll eyes:

That sucks mate! When/wheres your crossing and accomodation? Maybe tag along with another group? I'm going along with people off here that we met at the 2010 classic.

I was about to book for us but one by one all dropped out. Still time to book but not quite so much fun driving down on your own.

I dont mind driving on my own tbh...I know James in our group (on here) goes on his tod. Get it booked, tag along with another group....do the trip then give your mates crap when you get back, letting them know how much of an event they missed out on!! The classic aint like most car events, its much more welcoming and you'll soon find your self with new friends sat around an evening BBQ with a cool beer in hand biggrin

Hi Martin

Will they be offering a taxi service to / from dinner each night? hehe

I've not been to the classic before but if the event is anything like how Le Mans used to be before it went corporate then I would say it is a brilliant trip to go solo on.

Everyone is heading in the same direction, everyone is having a laugh and everyone is very sociable. It's easy to just rock up at a group and just introduce yourself as a solo traveller and join people for lunches, beers and trips out to the viewing points.

I'd say go for it. It's always good to stick yourself outside of your comfort zone once in a while.
