Probably won't last but our early crew report both times through Houx entrance they've been searched for bottles.

Didn't last long last year, so anyones guess how long it'll last this year.

Searched at Bleu Nord at 1pm. "Normal" quantities are allowed, but when I asked him what constituted "normal" he shrugged. Glass bottles are permitted this year though.

1st tickets said this in their info pack:

"Alcohol restrictions: In 2011 there were last minute restrictions put in place by the Le Mans Prefecture. This year we have been informed by the ACO that you can take alcohol in bottles onto the campsites (including the campsites that are considered to be inside the circuit – e.g. Maison Blanche, Tertre Rouge, Garage Vert and Houx). However, glass bottles are strictly prohibited from the Circuit."

The issue will be on Houx and Maison Blanche which are inside the circuit, as they scan the car and all persons. They should lighten up, but seem more determined this year...

They were randomly checking cars the whole time at BSJ last year, but not for alcohol, we never did work out what they were actually looking for confused

Guess we'll need to wait for some site reports to see how people get on.

I'll be at Houx from tomorrow at about 10am - will report then on progress.

They weren't very thorough on Houx last year. We went in a motorhome and had a few cases of cans visible in the floor area, but about a dozen cases of bottles stacked up on the bed above the cab (concealed from view with a sleeping bag, if I recall...)

The guy checking the vehicles looked through the door, saw the cans and waved us through.

We arrived at MB when it was quiet this morning and no sign of car searches
