Well Done 1st Tickets
Discussion
Posted this on 1st Tickets thread , decided to make it a dedicated thread
A Big thank you to all at 1st tickets from a Le Mans virgin , a very well organised camp site , clean toilets ( considering the copious amounts of beer and scorched food consumed) powerful showers , always hot , good security and an altogether friendly atmosphere on site with all the campers .
The only downside for us ( Silver Tiguan & DB9 to identify us ) was the incessant thump thump of a set of bass speakers in an encampment just outside the PH compound , this was day and night , and in the end caused us to break camp early and drive to Calais Sunday instead of Monday , the only thing was after we had started to dismantle we found out that the group of noise makers were also packing up, so Sunday night would have been peaceful .
This was totally outside the control of 1st Tickets , so in no way are we blaming them , but perhaps representation could be made to the ACO to control this sort of selfish behaviour in future
The race , to be so close to the action , ride the big wheel , visit the museum, walk the track , stand a arms length from the Winning Audi in the pits and watch practice wheel changes during the free pits visit Friday , were all things that will remain in our memories for a long time .
CHEERS TO 1ST TICKETS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad that you enjoyed yourselves. We were up in the top corner of the camp (nearest the airport) - were you nearby, or was the music coming from somewhere else?A Big thank you to all at 1st tickets from a Le Mans virgin , a very well organised camp site , clean toilets ( considering the copious amounts of beer and scorched food consumed) powerful showers , always hot , good security and an altogether friendly atmosphere on site with all the campers .

I was on the Blue Nord campsite, under the impression I had booked on the PH-campsite (sadly I'd booked through Teamlangoustine as I wasn't aware I could book a campsite directly through PH).
God was I jealous of the accomodation you guys had. Clean toilets and hot showers were both things lacking on the Blue Nord campsite.
Apart from that, utterly fantastic week-end, can't wait for next edition. No doubt I will be on the real PH campsite next time around.
(We were the Belgian E46 M3 and E36 M3 with n°5 stickers on it)

We were at the end nearest the Track , by the public car park , overlooking the main entrance .Yes the" music makers "( well just lots of bass and little else ) were spoken to and they reduced volume for a short while , then it was back to gut shaking bass . Shame, put a damper on what was otherwise a fantastic weekend

There were a group down that way last year who were just a bunch of inconsiderate twunts. Did this crowd have a load of sofas and a swimming pool (yes, a swimming pool) by any chance?Yes the" music makers "( well just lots of bass and little else ) were spoken to and they reduced volume for a short while , then it was back to gut shaking bass . Was the noise coming from Maison Blanc? There was a group of muppets there playing techno day and night, walked past their marque a couple of times to see it empty but their PA system (we're talking nightclub loud) on full. Why oh why...
That sounds very much like the clowns from last year. They are PHers, or at least have accounts here. Idiots.I was thinking about starting a thread like this last night. I heartily agree with everything said here, we were also Le Mans newbies (And the thread starter's neighbours (Silver hired Kuga))
The camp-site was awesome and having the marquee and TV / food / beer etc along with the very well looked after facilities was a fantastic way to experience Le Mans. Thanks 1st tickets and we'll definitely be booking again via you guys.
As for the dicks with the sound system they were clearly being antagonistic as even after being asked nicely and then having people unplug their Generator etc the then made a real effort to move the gennie and keep up the music. Utter twunts and the only real downside tot he weekend. You may be gutted to know though that they packed up on Sunday night as well so that was a fairly decent evening's sleep (even if I was hungover to hell on the Monday!)

If they were near the wall at MB this year (the ABC pitches) they were asked to turn the noise down, politely, at half two Sunday morning - they declined. Selfish idiots.Great work 1st Tickets, we had an excellent time no thanks to the French cocks right next to us. We were the guys right in the corner nearest the cocks and they were very annoying. It's a real shame some people packed up and went home because of them on Sunday because as has been said they went home at 6pm on Sunday evening.
We had a great time and the facilities were excellent. The ACO however do need to crack down on this selfish behavior, especially as these guys were camping in a car park not a camp site, they should just be chucked out. If one bit of feedback needs to go back to the ACO it's to stop w
kers like this spoiling other peoples fun. We had a good time and played a bit of music but hopefully with 100% more respect than those guys.

I am already trying to convince a few friends to come down for it next year. Hopefully I won't have a damned hire car then either!
The food "issues" were out of their control though, so they shouldn't take the blame for the fiasco with breakfast on Sunday.

Food was nothing to do with First Tickets. To be fair to Laverstoke, it was their first time with us, they took on all the financial risk, brought a lot of food down with them but were completely overwhelmed with demand and so had to satisfy those who'd bought food for the whole weekend in advance. I'll definitely be doing that again last year. The food was tasty and, I thought, great value at <EUR10 per meal including a drink.Stuart said:

I dont think it was the same group as last year, the set up was different. They were very OTT with the sound system. The "security" signs just made there encampment look unfriendly, just needed some big dogs to finnish the effect.Gassing Station | Le Mans | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

It does look very good, and nicely done!
