As per the title - what was the high light of this years event for you ?

Mine - probably watching the Toyota dicing with the Audi for the lead through the back markers.. thrilling stuff.

For me it was sitting in an overcast and empty field at 11.30 on Friday wondering how we were going to turn it into a suitable venue for a Friday Service, then looking back into it at 15.00 as it was rammed with great cars, loads of people, a bar, and a BBQ all bathed in glorious sunshine.

Loved it.

Probably finding a suitable Gazebo in the big Carrefour Friday evening, it kept us perfectly dry but self destructed mid Saturday - luckily we didn't need it any more!

Dumas ripping off the twisted front bodywork of his Audi after a visit to the tyre wall then jumping back in to hobble round to the pits was great to see.
That's what Le Mans is all about - never say die.

The race, the Delta Wing, what a sad way to be taken out like that...

Oh, and a fully functioning hot shower smile

This, or I am in a b&b next year. 5 freezing showers did not add to the atmosphere for me on Expo.

This for me was the highlight, being on the grid at the start, the second was 24 hours later and finishing 8th overall and 2nd in LMP2 after a long night dragging back up the order from inital issues. smile

My next highlight will be a good 10-12 hours sleep hehe

My highlight was clambering through forest and grass to somewhere between Tertre Rouge and the first chicane at around 3am and again at 6am as the sun came up. One of the LMP2 cars hit the right frequency to resonate the barriers, so you would get this awesome ringing for 10-15 seconds after the car passed - fantastic.

Hugely dangerous mind you, which some people would call us irresponsible for, but I'll never forget it.

Loads for me:

- the Aston-Corvette battle while it lasted

- seeing the Deltawing give it a good shot

- getting trackside in the early hours

Le Mans 24 2012 - trackside at midnight by giveitfish, on Flickr

- but best of all, acting like a teenager on Mad Friday and my mate Russ capturing it all on video biggrin

Racing aside, being with a great bunch of mates for a long weekend away is hard to beat. Thanks fellas!

Also, hats off to my £300 1.1 Clio that made the 650 mile return trip without missing a beat and used a total of...wait for it, £100 in fuel! (Nice to get back in the Jag this morning though!)
