Improvements for 2013

Anyone find side panels on a gazebo actually help in wind? ie stop it getting under the 'roof' and taking off/bending poles, which is what ours did Sat AM. Either way Argos value gazebo (£15) is clearly a false economy. Any better quality recommendations welcome.

Group next to us on MB had a real heavy duty Gazebo and it took of into the gravel trap cartwheeling as it went

Ice. Where on earth can you buy it? I'm sure we found some large blocks for coolbox in carrefour one year, but couldn't find anything this year whatsoever. Attempts to ask in bad French went badly...

Ah, Dave, it wasn't that bad and look at the benefit - you've got two tents now! Hope you all got back ok. I won't see you there next year as I'll be in New Zealand, but the rest of them are looking to go back to the same site. So take your ear plugs (Pete is very loud isn't he!)

When Mc D's was first built, we used to get it there for free, also Buffalo Grill.

For gazebo excellence, you need look no further than a Coleman Event Shelter. The 15' version fits on a standard ACO pitch with ease and we didn't even have all the guy ropes out on ours. Those around us were battling with gaffer tape and string to try and save theirs on Friday.

Yes. If you keep the sides on and keep them as close to the ground as possible it helps a lot. The only problem we had was when we left our 4side gazebo with one side partly open. The wind almost took the whole thing. As soon as we closed it it settled down. Just use bigger pegs an try to strap it to a van or something immovable !

Our gazebo partially collapsed on Thursday, ok so it was a cheap one but I dont think the sides helped matters. They acted as sails and pushed the whole thing over, snapping one of the poles. Our neighbours all chipped in to help and I fashioned a splint out of a spatula until we found another pole to make a more permanent repair. After that it was fine but next year I think I'll bring some more beefy tent pegs and perhaps invest in a gazebo that keeps the rain off!

We struggled a bit with our cheap and nasty gazebo too, lots of running repairs as the week progressed. Decided to get one of these for next year:

You won't regret it. The sides and doors do not impede its wind resistance either, although I would advise checking the seams as they are not strictly waterproof.

+1 2nd year of using ours and it is indeed excellent.
