I bought one of these and some Sennheiser in-ear phones and they never let me down... cut out a lot of the noise too The Sony is not cheap - if you caan get but very good

Mine arrived on Friday, seem comfortable enough and the radio Is easy to tune. Can't go wrong really.
I saw some in lidl yesterday, digital tuner though, think the price was £25.

Sounds like good deal, but then the other thread says there will be no Radio Le Mans at the classic this year. Can't decide whether to buy some for future Le Mans races.

Could you not just wear a pair of normal ear defenders, while you've got your in ear plugs connected to the radio in your pocket (like the one built into your mobile phone?).

Saves having to think about one more set of batteries if nothing else.

Got some of these for the 24 Hours and due to lousy signal and interference from the French commentary they were all but useless. You really need a decent digital tuning radio for them to be OK. In ear phones with ordinary ear defenders, plus a decent little radio, must be the way to go.

a good idea but sadly there is not radio le mans at the classic this year. From their website forum:

Just wanted to let you know that despite being invited by the Patrick Peter organisation to reprise our coverage from two years ago, the lack of support from within the classic community means we won't be covering Le Mans Classic. There is no time now to get an FM licence for the event and someone would need to come on board pretty quickly for us to be able to put together an online service.

I presume there will still be the french commentary with the occassional english section from the loudspeakers

I used a pair of the cheapest ear defenders from Screwfix (£3.00)and earphones with the radio on my Samsung Galaxy Ace phone and had no problems at all. Reception on my phone was a 100 times better than the cheap official radios they were selling at the circuit.

Yep, ear defenders with normal in-ear buds connected to FM radio will do the job. However I have found these to get pretty uncomfortable after a while, plus whever you stand up there are wires which keep ripping the buds out your ear and is a right pain in the arse.

The stand alone ear defenders with built in radio just does two jobs in one with more comfort.

As I've banged on about before, I just wouldn't do without them for the 24hrs.
