This may be a silly question but I'm a LM novice so would be interested in others experience. I'm off to LMC2012 and have booked a track lap in my 997 (package booked through the Porsche car club). Having never been before I wondered whether my interpretation of the dress code is in danger of preventing me entering the paddock and doing my booked track lap. The offical website says no shorts, Tshirts etc. and period dress is encouraged. I shall be attired in standard issue chinos and open collar shirt and assume this will be fine. Anyone done a track lap in the past and what was the dress code requirement? R, CMD

Hi, you don't need access to the paddocks to get on track. The track laps are entered via the Bugatti circuit which you will be parked on, within the PC area.

Having said this, chino's and open shirt will be fine. I honestly believe they put the dress code in to give them an excuse to reject someone who is being sensible around cars that are worth millions. I have never seen anyone rejected from entering, but I am sure if you turned up in board shorts, half pissed and falling about the place, they will send you away and use the dress code as a valid reason.

So, in summary, you'll be fine for track laps and for paddocks I am 99.999999% sure.

I have been to every classic since 2006.

Most of the time I can be seen wearing a pair of Teva's, shorts and t-shirt.

Never been refused entry to any part of the circuit including the paddock.
